I was reading over some posts and noticed that a few people mentioned that they had abnormal MRI's. I had a cyst in the back of my head. Just out of curiosity, who else had abnormal MRI's?

I had 2 MRIs and they both came back showing that I had "several hyperintensities in both cerebral hemispheres." At first they seemed to think it was concerning but then when I had my second one and they hadn't changed, it wasn't as big of a deal and they actually said it was normal. I also had elevated protein in my spinal fluid, which they were never able to explain.

My daughter had an MRI and it was NORMAL. Her Spinal Tap was NORMAL. Had hers been abnormal, I think I'd freak out! I would be so insistant that they keep trying to find out why the tests were abnormal if I were in your situations!

Jonathan, What did Dr.Rozen comment re:Abnormal MRI???

Hope y'all find answers you are comfortable with re:MRI results!

First, they should have an auto save on the forum cause I hit the wrong button and it deleted everything .

I had a small Arachnoid Cyst in the back of my head and it is very small. Dr. Rozen thinks that it is not causing any problems (including my headache) but to be 100% sure...He ordered an MRI, MRV, MRA's and an MRI with gadolinium (contrast). The docs here don't think this is necessary but it is always good to follow up on these things.

Here is an article on the cyst (mine isn't big enough as the ones that they list the symptoms for): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arachnoid_cyst

I hate it when I lose my replys too. I have done it a lot. The article about the cyst was interesting. I am glad yours isn't causing all those symptoms (scary!) but I sort of wish they had found the cause of your headache and could fix it.

Even if it turns out to have nothing to do with your headache, having a good record of how it is now may be really useful later on in life, if things ever change. Still I have to agree that being 100% sure that is not the cause is a good thing. It would be incredibly annoying if it were the cause but they overlooked it because it didn't seem probable.
