I joined the fibro group a few days ago and have already received so much help. I've had headaches since I was in an accident 20+ years ago. I've tried it all. About 7 years ago I was introduced to Excedrin. Better than American Express because I don't leave home without it.

The bad part about headaches is the medication you take can create a different kind of headache. I have a low tolerance for most meds except Valium. It doesn't help with my headaches as much as it does the fibro.

During my umpteen years with headaches I've told more than one doctor to "f" off when they told me I was having migraines. I know what a migraine is as I've had them during pregnancy and these are not migraines.

I get really heated when a doctor doesn't listen. I won't ever return to a doctor in the US. I live in Mexico and have much better care than I ever received in the US.

Thanks for letting me join.

Hi Bajaraquel, Welcome to the group. I think that headaches that start after accidents should really be in their own category altogether and really shouldn't be lumped together with migraines and stuff like that since it has a different cause. Of course I am not a doctor, but I would think that trauma would be more readily explainable than the really shaky understanding we have of migraines (or even less of NDPH). It might not help doctors to know what to do about it, but at least aknowledge that it has a known cause.

I have no idea of the differences between doctors here (the U.S.) or in other countries since I have never had the option to go anywhere else but I know how much I appreciate that my neurologist is a great listener and takes me seriously. It makes a huge difference even when he doesn't have an answer to the problem right away to know that he is aware of it and is trying to find a medication that will help. Glad you found excedrin and that it works for you. It is always nice to have something that helps. Mary
