I looked up verapamil and it is a heart med. Did your Dr give you this for headaches? What is ic butal? I looked on drugs.com and I couldn't find it?

Have you ever looked at the site www.drugs.com ? It is a very good site. It shows everything from what they are to all the side affects, etc. Good luck,Lisa

wow, sounds like quite a cocktail of drugs there, are you taking them all at the same time? It's not unusual to have drugs that were originally for other uses being used for headaches/migranes - I was on a beta-blocker for a while so they try all sorts!

Are you suffering from a ton of side effects from that lot, other than the dizzyness? I would say ask your doc if you can before you come off something even if you've only just started it.

hope it's going ok,

Physicians are using many drugs that were once thought for one use for another. For instance, I am taking Carbatrol shich is a seizure medication and I am taking it for facial pain. It is a good idea to print out a med sheet which includes med, dose, and ordering physician each time you go to the doctors. This way each physician can readily see what you are taking including the meds from other docs. Also, it can be easily adjusted for meds changed. It is also a good idea to carry one of these lists in your wallet in case of an accident. This lets the ED know of your current meds. I hope this helps, Sandi

I took verapamil at one point. I don't remember what side effects I had, but if it significantly bothers you, call the doctor's office to see if you should stay on it or if maybe they could lower the dose and have you work up gradually or something.

I have been taking Verapamil for about two years now and it has been helpful with my headache. (Along with other meds). I'd say its worth pursuing if you can get past your side effects. (I don't have any).
