Is it just me, or is anyone else's headache affected by changes in the weather? I feel like I can predict the weather better than the meteorologists on TV--after a long day in class with an aching head, it starts raining and I realize that the oncoming storm was causing the elevation of pain. If it rains one day, my head hurts, and if it's sunny the next day, the change in the weather makes my head hurt as well. My neurologist says it's not something that can really be treated, unfortunately. Any feedback? Thanks.

Well, the last week weather has been great here in Sweden, after long periods of rain. And with that a wave of ill has hit me. Irritated eyes, tired body that feels like jelly, as well as a cruel headache (between 6-8 while it's normally down between 2-5).

I believe that most of this has to do with a recently discovered allergy of mine. But never before has my headache been affected by weather as much as now.

My analysis: Lots of people experience headaches when the weather changes. I did before I got NDPH. This can be combined with light sensitivity and perhaps dehydration (if it's hot). It's probably quite normal.

Weather fronts have lately become one of the main triggers for my headaches, although they didn't used to be so much. My mother, who has suffered migraines all my life, is better at predicting storms than the TV weathercasters! It doesn't seem to be just pressure changes, as airplanes and high elevations don't trigger headaches nearly as much as storms.

When I was in last week, my neurologist's nurse (a migraine sufferer) reported that lots of their patients were suffering with our run of summer storms -- it's a pretty common phenomenon.

Hi,

I am a human barometer- I know immediately when the pressure is changing. This is a relatively new thing though, as it started right after a bad tornado we had in October. Since then, I know immediately when the pressure changes. As soon as I feel it, I will check the weather and I am usualy right. So yes, others have it too.

My roommate, who does not have headache also feels the pressure change in her ears- we can feel a storm a mile away.

Pain free days,

sai;ingm
