MDJunction to me

neshama48"Having Crohn's Disease for over 26 years, in the first few years, it lonely and isolating.
Though now my disease is in a near perfect remission, my friends and family are sympathetic to me, but I can not talk to them about this disease. When I stumbled across MD Junction, and met others who had the same disease I was not alone in battling the disease. MD Junction is like a second family, without the judgement or guilt of having Crohn's Disease, but they do give you love and support.

Hi All,

Right now, I feel like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. The migraines are pretty bad at the moment- still between 8/10-10/10 dailty and I have no clue what to do. I am also fainting a great deal- anywhere from 1-6 times a day. No one seems to know what to do. (I have been dealing with the fainting problem for a year now and chronic migraines for the past 11 years. )

I am seeing a cardiologist about the fainting problem. Unfortunately, i don't think she really understands the problem. i am currently on a 30 day heart monitor to rule out cardiac problems. I also had an overnight, video taped EEG. This did rule out seizures, but no one seems to know what it is.

Last week, I had a video taped EEG. When the Doctor rounded the following morning, he said that there was no seizure activity, which is good. The Doctor went on to say that stress was probably causing these problems. I know that this doesn't cause migraines or increased fainting. I have been dealing with the fainting problem for a year now and have fainted at school, at home, at the beach, and have missed out on things I want to do because of this disease.

Between the chronic intractible migraine and the fainting problems, it is impossible to function normally. I can't drove a car pr rode a bike at the moment due to the increased fainting. I absolutely hate this situation. I don't know what to do.

The current working diagnoswis is dysautonomia/ Postural Orthostatic Tachycxardia syndrome (POTS.) Unfortunately, most of the medicines I have tried for this have not worked at all. I am trying to get in with a new cardio who may know something about dysautonomia. I am on the waiting list for Mayo clinic in Jacksonville.

I can barely function right now. I cannot drive a car or ride a bike, which is frustrating, but I know it is the right thing to do. Between the migraine pain and fainting, it is hard to keep a normal schedule. I have to depend on others for transporation, which is so frustrating because I am trying to be as independent as possible. I am able to volunteer, but only for a couple of hours a week. I just hate this and I don't know what to do.

I am just so frustrated. The migraine is really bad and because of the fainting, no one want to make any medication or treatment changes at the moment for fear it will make it worse.

I really don't know what to do. I certainly do not want ti to get worse. I am just scared right now and wish i had a definitive answer as to what to do about all of this.

Thanks so much for letting me vent.

Sorry things are so rough now for you now. I hope your tests reveal some information that the doctor can use. Try to find some positive things in your day that bring you joy and focus on them. I will be praying for your situation and that you will find a doctor that can find a solution to your fainting. Hang in there!

sailingmuffin,

I'm so sorry you've been feeling so bad. Your frustration is evident and well warranted. I'm relieved to hear that someone is taking your fainting seriously and at least you are wearing a halter that will hopefully show something when it's all said and done.

Hang in there!

My advice is purely personal. I am not a Doctor and nothing I say should be a substitute for getting proper medical diagnosis and advice.

I am glad that they are finally running the tests. I am really sorry to hear that you aren't getting much help from it yet. I hope the heart monitor gives them some sort of clue how to procede...or that Mayo gets you in and can make better progress. I can relate on how limiting it is not to be able to drive or get where you want to go. It makes it almost impossible to plan any sort of normal life. I hope that venting let a bit of the frustration out for you. I wish there were more we could do.
