has anyone tried these? i have found putting "head on" on my forhead, or even a little vicks takes the pain away for 15 or 20 mns.

besides that, i had a great week last week and unfortunately the head ache is back full blown. i am getting really sick of this. my dr told me try Gabapentin but i am trying to lose my baby weight. i dont want to gain anymore. so he said stick with the b2 suppliments.

ughhh its so hard raising a child and having this issue.

I tired head-on and it made my head cool for a moment which felt good but no difference w/ the actual headache.

I haven't tried either of those, maybe I should. Thanks for mentioning them. For what it is worth I didn't start gaining weight on Gabapentin until I got up to 1800 mgs a day. I can understand not wanting to get on it while you are trying to lose baby weight though, since it can be so hard to lose that anyway. I hope that the B2 will help you have more weeks like last week.

i have tried head on many times during my 8 1/2 months of pain but it doesn't work at all as far as I'm concerned. It does cool the skin a little but I think that my pain's too deep for any self appling liquid.

I am on Gabapentin, and I only just started gaining weight, I am on 1200mg, and have been on it since december.. but have only been on 1200mg for a few months now.. If y ou do a little working out, even just chasing the litttle one,, you should be fine,

gabapentin has not done alot for me though I am asking to come off of it.. Mary does is it helping you?

as far as head on goes.. it had a burning sensation with me I hated it.. couldnt get it off my forhead fast enough.

I like Head On extra strength. It's just a distraction from the pain for me. It doesn't actually relieve the pain, although it is comforting. I preferred Head On to Vicks or Mentholatum because the Head On isn't so greasy. I've found that the Well Patch Headache Cooling Pads create a stronger/longer lasting cooling sensation, though and i like those the most.

I can sympathize with you on having this & raising a child, newmommy3. It is difficult. All I know is that I've survived so far, taking it a little at a time. I find joy in raising my child & watching her grow, as tough as it is.

Thanks for the ideas, Newmommy3. We'll have to try the Vicks. My daughter tried head-on but she liked something we ordered off the internet better. It's called Mygrastick (like migraine). It's based on aromatherapy I guess. It's made from peppermint and lavender oils. She found it to be soothing. Now she is using a Lidocaine patch on her forehead at night. She thinks they help some with the pain. We asked her doctor about them and she gave us a prescription.

Also, my daughter who is sixteen got up to 2700mg on gabapentin and it didn't cause any weight gain for her. It also didn't help her headache, but you never know until you try. Hope you find a drug that's right for you.

I think the gabapentin is helping a little, but it is hard to tell how much since I am taking 3 meds at once. It isn't a miracle drug for me, but I do seem to be worse if I forget it.

I just bought some lemon scented Vicks to apply to my temples and chest for the headaches and congestion. i will let you know how it ends up. I doubt its will work for the head because I never heard of it before but I'm willing to try anything. BTW- Headon doesn't reach far enough down deep to even touch the pain and the smell kills my head. The sticky ness is annoying too because it gets in my hair.

PS I have never heard of gabepentin before, I'll look it up.
