I am married to one of the most amazing heros there is out there a US Marine! we have two children and daughter who is 3 years old and a little boy who is just now 4 months old. our daughter was diagnosed with MG last august and my husband was gone when she was diagnorsed wich also happend to be when she was going through a MG crisis. The drs told me i was being a crazy 1st time mom and they sent me home... after three diffrent ers she stoped talking she stoped walking and she wasnt able to swallow. The 1st night in the ICU she stoped breathing and then next day we had a diagnosis. After the tensilin test. I only had limited time to discus with my husband what waas going on with our daughter and at one point they just kept telling me something was wrong but they didnt no what... it was probably the hardest thing i have had to go through in my life so far. until next wensday when she is schedueled for her thymectomy... im horrified and and coould use a little extra support if anyone can send me any kind of incouragment i would greatly appreciate it.

I posted a response to you, but it's under another one of your posts. In case you didn't receive it, I'm reprinting here for you. God bless your family. Here it is:

Wow, I've not heard of a child so young having a thymectomy, but my MG is not of the congenital nature.

Yes, I had a thymectomy in 2000. The procedure used was the transsternal split (like open-heart surgery). I've heard of laproscopic methods, also.

When is your little one scheduled for surgery? To a child this will make no difference, but I've had 16 operations...the worst of those knee and abdominal...and can honestly tell you that a thymectomy was easier in reference to post-op pain and recovery.

I don't mean to make this sound like a cake-walk--it's not--but a child is more resilent so I will be praying she is one tough little girl and tolerates the surgery well.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to email me or leave me a private message.

Lynne
