MDJunction to me

Sylvia4648"I have suffered from depression most of my life, but had some long, non-depressed times. The last 16 years have been an on-going, constantly worsening nightmare for me medically, socially and with my family. 11/2008 to the present has been the worst time in my life, and new things just keep piling up. During that time I’ve gone from being mostly homebound to being totally homebound due to the errors of about 2 dozen doctors who overmedicated me so badly that I came home w/ 4 conditions I didn’t go in with. I spent months wanting to die, and finding MDJ may well have saved my life. It’s one of the worst feelings to know that nobody on earth needs you for anything; but now that I’ve been a group leader for awhile, there are people here who need me. Thanks MDJ." (Sylvia4648)

My wife came back home last night worried about my condition. I am normally pretty unflappable (prayer and trust that God has a bigger plan help me with that, but my personality tends that way too). Yesterday I let something spiral my temper way out of control (I have six kids and even though they are adults they can still get me I guess). The result was to have instant voice loss. I went nasal and slurry all at the same time. It felt like I was trying to form words using a volleyball for a tongue..

I know it's impossible to avoid stress in our lives but with a disease like this we need to learn to control our stress. Usually the family helps me avoid those stresses. After yesterday my wife will probably give them a stern warning again (not that anybody will admit they did anything wrong) but I need their help to stay on even footing.

I recovered quickly last night but had that happened when my MG had already flared it's hard to imagine the consequences.

I guess I'm posting this to encourage you all to enlist the help of your family to control stress. It can have devastating effects on this disease.

And watch that heat. It can flare our symptoms too.

Thanks everybody for being such good friends

Sorry that had to happen babes. I have lost it (my temper) a few times as well and it is even more frustrating because you can't yell and get it out of your system. There is no way we can remove all stress from our lives. I hope your feeling better - I know the feeling - my kids are all grown but sometimes get to me. take care

Do kids ever grow up enough to be not stressful?

My son is dating an evil woman. Well maybe she's not evil, but I am afraid she may be.

And my beautiful 23 year old daughter came home from college sporting a mohawk.....
