MDJunction to me

ITeach91"MD Junction has been a lifeline to me. The support and information I receive from group members is so important for me to maintain a good quality of life. I struggled with a diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency and did not know where to turn, but then I found MD and it has been one of the most important tools to help me to enjoy my life and stay as healthy as possible. We really are stronger together than we could ever be alone." (ITeach91)

We walk slower. It's a fact of our MG lives.

I don't want a "cane." No, way! At least, not yet! But, I love my walking stick! At 37", it's perfect for my 6'2" frame, has a nice round top that fits nicely in either hand, is light fiberglass, with a tapered black rod that goes down to a 5/8" rubber tip. The thing is, I don't need it for stability, at least i don't think so, but, it gives me confidence walking slower. And, most importantly, it is a signal to all the Menards/grocery clerks, and other people, that they will be leaving me in the dust if they walk at their normal pace. I think it also helps me walk more erect as a "slow" walker.

Esteban, The walking stick(s) are very popular here! Walking is so good for us, no matter the speed. I figure if I'm going to be tired after, at least it's a pleasant and rewarding tired. Smile

A walking stick sounds like a great idea! I'm only 5'2" and i'm moving so slow, I feel i'm always in someone's way or about to get knocked down. I think it would help signal other people to go around me and not expect me to jump out of their way quickly. Thanks for the tip! Smile
