MDJunction to me

nvrsubtle"Not having any local Bipolar support groups where I live, MDJuntion has given me a place in which people understand what I am going through and has given me a new outlook on life with support that is real and good. Without
the support that I receive from MDJunction, I would be wandering through
life with no one who understands me. I owe so much to MDJunction for giving
me a life line to help get me through the toughest times.

My dad would like to hear from anyone that has had a bone marrow transplant. He was wondering was it worth it or would you have rather done an alternative treatment after your experience. Please share if you are willing, or PM if you are willing to chat by phone thanks.

Hello Shark...hope by now you've got some treatment choices.

Good luck with your dad this summer! Smile

Hello, I had a stem-cell transplant for my myeloma, it was quite a deal, where they took you as far down as you could go and still breath, radiation, chemo, then started you back up, 9 pints of "O" neg plus two pint of my own stem-cells and a lot of not quitting, a lot of just breathing and making it to the next day, I stayed in the Bone Marrow unit for 5 weeks, then a live in cancer support home for 3 weeks, back and forth everyday to the hospital, it was an experience I will never forget, but if it comes to it again, I will do it, I'll try it again, I know that maybe my experience may not have been a Bone Marrow transplant, but the stem-cell transplant for my myeloma was done in the Bone Marrow unit. mark
