They checked my good bacteria, both lacto and bifido and I was lacking in bifido it appears. they check for a few parasites and also for overgrowth of bad bacteria such as steph, klebsiella, salmonella, etc. and also check for yeast. And 4-6 weeks for severe dysbiosis sounds too short. But it depends on the person, the condition of their gut, the treatment method, etc. There are way too many factors to know for sure how long it would take. Antibiotics to kill the bacteria may work, but i most DEFINITELY advise that you take florastor twice a day, and a really potent antibiotic (2-3 hours apart from the antibiotic)in order to make sure it doesn't come back with a vengeance. And continue both probiotics for a good 1-2 months following. If the antibiotics work for you, then great! it does for some. For others however, it always comes back (probably because they dont supplement with probiotics simultaneously which is a MUST. lyme disease patients know this very well if you check their forums) It is easy to feel like there is this BIG THING that's wrong with you and it's unimaginable. It's dark and deep and unexplained. Once you have answer or unveil the mask, its like "wow, i was scared of this?" or "this is it?". Everyone has their scary moment. this obviously is not a competition but i lost 35 pounds in 2 months. And i am currently at 134lbs at 5'10". I was into heavy body building and was 170lbs of lean muscle at 8% body fat prior, bench pressing more than 250lbs, and was big on sports, outdoors, pushing my body, and marathons. That was my life, and it was completely taken away from me and i can't even walk 1/4 mile without feeling faint. And yet, i have developed hope in God. Things get grim for everyone at one point or another but it will get better. Don't worry. the only thing you can do is just keep pushing and trying.

Regarding the D.O., I have not gone for an osteopathic manipulation. I'm very interested to hear what that is and what it involves. please let me know if you are getting one.

There are two brands. THREELAC (3lac) and THERALAC. I meant THERALAC. Threelac is another one many people use but it also has the strain entero faecalis (but a different one, not TH10 like Dr. ohhiras) and yes, i have read tons of reviews of people getting crazy sick off of them. I refuse to take that shit. It has helped a lot of people though so once again, it's a toss up and a personal judgement call.

I will let you know how the appointment goes next week with the D.O. - I had one manipulate my stomach a while ago but he was a student. I didn't do any good. So I am going to a real D.O. and was recommended to do so by my physical therapist and also my PCP so I hope it works. I guess they do some hands on manipulating on your stomach to work up whatever may be holding things up in there. Its an ongoing thing (like 2x per week I think) so that's probably why the student didnt do much for me b/c I only went once to him while I was visting my PCP. He was helping her out and practiced on me. I am also interested in seeing if the d.o. can help the pain in my shoulder. If nothing else it will get my story in front of another d.r. and see what they make of all this craziness.

This is another odd symptom that I don't think we have discussed. When I mention it to my drs they look at my like I'm nuts, but its odd. Since this stuff with my intestines has started (3 months ago), my gas no longer stinks. I am not complaining, but there is something not right with that because before this I was like everyone else on the planet and it did smell, pretty much every night. What do you make of this?

Also, would you say that after seeing your integrative medicine dr that you started feeling a bit better with the supplements they suggested? What has helped you the most during all this?

The thing that has helped me the most, is being open and trying all sorts of things that allowed me to literally experiment and learn on my own body. But it was very costly... that was a generic answer as I am sure everyone has been through that.

But besides that, I have to say being part of the integrative medicine center and taking full advantage of their diagnosis, testing and labs that conventional MDs do not do. The METHOD or treatment plan they gave me was so-so, the diagnosis and testing.. PRICELESS. For the treatment plan, i knew the same or more about everything whenever i met with the ND and she i think felt a little threatened sometimes, but was a nice person. But I am an open person and do consider everything she says and always let her speak first and then ask away. Or I do my own treating once the diagnosis is out.

How is the natren working out for you? I am having my mom test the custom probiotics to be sure that it wasn't just me. But i went back on the natren and man, its a great product. I am guessing if u decided to pull through, the bloating from it/die off should be subsiding in a few days. Also, I am not only using probiotics but I am taking a very strong natural antibiotic through various bitter herbs, etc. that is antiviral, antibacterial, and anti parasitic. Probiotics is always needed but these might do the trick. Most likely will start with the Grapefruit seed extract.

Bloating is GONE. I got no bloating when starting the probiotic. Taking 2/day. Burping during the day has way decreased. Nighttime waking up has reduced to one time with minimal trapped gas. BM's per day have decreased to 1-2 per day instead of 3-5. I still have the right side pain though, but I am thankful the probiotics seem to be working! Thank YOU :O)

Went to see a D.O. today. The manipulation seemed to be a lot like chiropractics. My back is still hurting so he has helped like everyone else - he hasn't. He recommended adding a D-3 to my D-2 supplement though and then added some N-A-C N-acetyl-L Ctsteine to detox the liver and also a magnesium citrate supplement. I feel like a walking pharmacy with what I was taking before.

I'm glad it has helped. That is a big indicator that you have some clear dysbiosis or yeast issues. I cant really know which one specifically or maybe both, but the probiotics have seemed to have helped you clear out some of the bad guys out of your gut. You can still choose to do a stool test but maybe it might be a little skewed since starting the natren. so what you can do now is start by using antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and antiparasitic stuff. And finally cleanses.

I posted up before but GSE (grapefruit seed extract) is really potent stuff that people even use to clean their showers, and yet natural and gentle enough for internal use. Probiotics keep bad bacteria in check but when you ask yourself the question of "why do you have bad bacteria" things get a litle bit more complicated and only you can answer the question. Simply using antibiotics without probiotics can do it. Antibiotics MINUS the probiotics can lead to c. diff, klebsiella, e coli, etc. For me personally, it was antibiotics PLUS 1-2 years of acid reducers like nexium. That'll for SURE do it since your acid is way lower and can't kill nearly all the stuff that a normal stomach can. Your first line of defense is lowered. Had i known, i would have never taken it.

GSE, and a product called candida clear by NOW, are great products with excellent reviews that remove bacteria, viruses, and all sorts of things living in your intestnes. They are really potent. If you go on iherb, search for nutrabiotic GSE and NOW candida clear and read the reviews. I would add one of those once you are stable with the probiotics. Then after you do that for a few weeks, adding a anti parasitic formula will help clear out any PARASITES. If you have parasites, no matter how many times you clear the bacteria, itll come back. Parasites are higher up on the cause ladder. I haev been tested for parasites and yet they are not accurate and do not cover all the little protozoa, etc.

Check out www.humaworm.com for information on parasites and you may choose to order their product which isn't too expensive. However, also on iherb or vitacost or other online retailers, NOW Wormwood complex droppers are a great supplement to clear out the parasite. And there are further instruction on how to do that. Its probably really overwhelming now so ill leave it here. but adding the GSE will help hopefully.

I am glad the natren is working for you. Continue to use it for a few months to be safe. Did u ever get ur b12 levels checked? And also, did u have any die off symptoms.. if so what were they?

Hi, Thanks for all the info. I didn't have any die off with the probiotics. Are b-12 levels checked when your red blood count is checked? I just recently had a good CBC and metabolic panel which showed no deficiencies. Is there another test for B-12??? Its funny I just bought a few books on Amazon and one was called "could it be b-12". I also got the "magneseum cure" and one about vitamin d deficiency. The DO I saw today was convinced my aches and pains are from my D deficiency.

When you ordered the Natren off of Iherb were they packaged in the ice pack and well protected? Was the pack still frozen when you got the probiotics?

They check your b12 levels separately. And it is good but if you're like me, my serum was SUPER high for no reason, no supplementation whatsoever and yet i found out i have a major b12 deficiency from a hair test that showed low levels of cobalt, which is exclusively b12 related. I really think it can serve you well. Maybe a hair test.. dysbiosis bacteria in the gut sucks up your b12 and b vitamins like no other. or you can buy a sublingual methylb12 tablet and try it to see how strongly you react to it. stronger means ur more deficient usually.

Do you know if it hurts to take a b-12 if its already part of your multivitamin? My multivitamin says it has 5000% but its from cyanocobalamin which I heard is junk.

I have an appt with a natropath next week so I will ask him to check my b-12 levels to be sure.

anyway, cyanocobalamin is garbage. its not an active form of b12 and companies chose it cause its cheap and stable to produce. your body has to remove the cyanide group and methylate it. there is also dibencozide which is adenosylcobalamin (the 2nd active type of b12 used for kreb cycle and ATP production) . methylb12 is used for everything else like the nervous system, etc.
