I'm an Advocate

Hey jenetonik,

I'm sorry, I can't help you. I wish I could, but I've never tried it nor heard of it. Have you tried to check out drugdigest.org for side effects or other interactions? I'm guessing you are aware of interactions, which is why you are asking? But just checking.

I hope someone else can help you with an answer.

*hugs*

Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help. I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

Something has changed within me/Something is not the same/I'm through with playing by/The rules of someone else's game/Too late for second-guessing/Too late to go back to sleep/It's time to trust my instincts/Close my eyes and leap...I'm through accepting limits/Cuz someone says they're so/Some things I can not change/But till I try I'll never know/Too long I've been afraid of/Losing love I guess I lost/Well if that's love/It comes at much too high a cost/I'd sooner buy Defying Gravity/Kiss me good-bye I'm Defying Gravity/I think I'll try Defying Gravity/And you won't bring me down...

My dr. gave me a sample of Frova. He said that it is a lot like Imitrex.

i have never tried it sorry i can't help
Please, please forgive me,
But I won't be home again.
Maybe someday you'll look up,
And, barely conscious, you'll say to no one:
"Isn't something missing?"

You won't cry for my absence, I know -
You forgot me long ago.
Am I that unimportant...?
Am I so insignificant...?
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?

Even though I'm the sacrifice,
You won't try for me, not now.
Though I'd die to know you love me,
I'm all alone.
Isn't someone missing me?

Please, please forgive me,
But I won't be home again.
I know what you do to yourself,
I breathe deep and cry out:
"Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?"

Even though I'm the sacrifice,
You won't try for me, not now.
Though I'd die to know you love me,
I'm all alone.
Isn't someone missing me?

And if I bleed, I'll bleed,
Knowing you don't care.
And if I sleep just to dream of you
And wake without you there,
Isn't something missing?
Isn't something...

Even though I'm the sacrifice,
You won't try for me, not now.
Though I'd die to know you love me,
I'm all alone.
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?

I just tried a sample pack of it yesterday. It did not help me. I took one pill wanted two hours and took the second. I did not/have not noticed any side effects but I only took it that one day. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Sorry to come in so late and I hope you see this info....Frova is another triptan for migraines and has been known to be used as more of a menstrual migraine med. For my migraines any other time during the month it does nothing for me. During my cycle, I start a couple days a head and take two in the morning and do that through the end and I am migraine free.

For my body I wouldn't be able to compare it to Imitrex. Imitrex, and I take 6mg injections, is my last resort triptan. I take that when all the others have failed me and I still can't get any relief. This is like the big blast that comes in and saves the day. I wouldn't say that about Frova.

It helped me, of the triptans Frova, Zomig, Relpax and Maxalt help me A LOT. Like if I take when i feel a migraine coming on it ZAPS it and I am a functioning part of society again 2 hours later! Just watch out if you get a migraine few days in a row, I have found if I take one of the triptans 3 days in a row or more I end up with rebound headaches. Best of luck.

Hey, I was taking Axert (similar to Frova) but I complaied that it would fade off and I'd need to take another later and then i'd run out over the course of a month. He gave me Frova because it has a longer half life (lasts twice as long) than most of these drugs.

I haven't had many migraines with it yet but it seems to do the job well.
