Who out there has back problems? I was just wondering. I ran into another forum in here that was very interesting to me. Lets find out how many of us have back/spine problems that may or may not be the cause of our migraines or other health problems.

ok I will start,

I have scoliosis, and a bone spur on my neck.

I don't have back problems, but I do have neck issues. I have cervical degenerative disc disease, and neck pain always seems to coincide with migraines for me. I'm trying to address both issues in hopes relieving one will help with the other.

Welcome to the post dianalee Thank you for your input on this. I feel mine are linked somehow together. Keep me posted if you get a doc who will address both issues together and come up with something for you to eliminate your pain. Take care,

Lisa

Thanks! I hope I'll have something positive to report at some point. Lately I've been receiving a combination treatment of massage therapy and craniosacral therapy. There hasn't been any huge or immediate change, but I do think I'm noticing small improvements each week.

I've had issues with my back since I was young, and it still aches all the time though mild compared to my head so I ignore it - though no one seems to think there's anything wrong with it?! I have problems with my neck, but think a lot of it is the muscles having got all knotted up from the constant pain - and then it prob makes the headache worse so I guess a bit of a vicous circle. I really thought there would be a connection, but my old neuro wasn't convinced and a full spine MRI didn't show anything much!

I still think there's something in it though...

iwas seeing a chiropracter for 1-2 months because my head and neck are to far forward. The doctor said you are supposed to have a natural C curve in your neck and i actually had a negative degree curve. i was told this can add 10-20lbs of extra pressure onto your neck. And although i felt alot better after i was being treated, i was still having migraines. i also grind me teeth at night (TMJ)and i have started wearing a nightguard but that doesnt seem to be helping that much either. my dad said i should see a neurosurgeon but what will he be able to tell me?

Re: TMJ/migraines...check out www.NTI-tss.com. My daughter's neuro told us about this and we tried it. It helped with the TMJ and some with the migraines. At the bottom of the page, there is a way to access a list of providers for this dental device an their locations. The NTI-tss is FDA approved for migraines. It works better than a nightguard because your teeth do not touch at all.
