I do get nausea also when I get my migraines. My doctor prescribes Reglan which I think is similar to compazine, but the Reglan doesn't make me sleepy. But that is just me since medications have different side effects for people. I do usually have to sleep the migraine off, but I understand a concern if a medication makes you sleepy especially depending on what activities, etc. you need to do and then it isn't safe to be sleepy.

I hope that helps!Wink

I could not take compazine. Phenergan also make you very tired. I have tried an over the counter medication called Emetrol. Be sure to ask your dr. before trying it though.

Ginger cookies are supposed to help with nausea too.

Since on the other thread I pulled out my aromatherapy stuff.....peppermint oil is great. A few drops in your hands, rub together and breath in (don't touch the face as it may burn a bit). Some put the drops on a kleenex and then breathe in. Too bad Bath and Body Works gave up their migraine line. They had a wonderful roll on with peppermint and other that helped with nausea and their masks were great with both cool feeling and the right smell that could take the edge off of my migraines and allow me to sleep at night. Oh, also for nausea I eat peppermint life savers. Also have them in my purse. The Altoids are too strong for me as an aide for nausea so work out what you can for yourself. I always try for other alternatives since I take so many meds and vitamins, but when I am really bad I take Reglan.

Peppermint is wonderful! I drink a lot of peppermint tea to help with nausea and migraines. If I get too nauseated, I just take one or two Dramamine tablets. They have a "less drowsy" formula that I find very helpful.

Ginger tea also helps, but it is a bit spicy so you may need it to be weak or add some stevia as a sweetener. Or you may like it spicy. Smile But it works wonders for tummy problems such as nausea.

I am NOT a doctor. My advice is purely based on my own personal experience and study. You should always consult your doctor before messing with your meds or adding supplements.
