Sorry not to see your question about DHE! I was probably getting ready for my trip to Houston for the decompression surgery. My DHE reaction was pretty bad - I was on round 3 of 4 of DHE via IV at the Cleveland Clinic. I guess that was 6 hours into the 8 hour treatment? I have no recollection of it, as the stuff totally knocked me out and made me go into gaga land. I didn't even know my mom was checking up on me, I was so knocked out! Anyway, after the 3rd infusion, the nurse was concerned enoug...

I hope that you can get your migraines under control. I have reduced my stress. I relax by listening to music. There is a youtube video of how to get rid of a headache. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHDslacCsrA

Maybe it will help someone. I have tried it and it has helped with my headaches that I get. I don't get the severe migraines as much anymore since I found out that reducing my stress, praying, reading the Holy Bible, and eating foods that reduce inflammation do wonde...

Don't be discouraged because one fella isn't listening. Or even two fellas. I've been through a few neurologists and the last doc actually helped. Hallelujah! I take Relpax with 2 Aleve to prevent a bounce-back migraine. I also get a Depoprovera shot every 3 months to help regulate the hormonal changes that were triggering horrific migraines. I still have migraines - even the sucky multi-day ones - but nothing like they were before. No more trips to the ER. So, for the time being, I've found wha...

2nd Round of Botox

Yes, changing needles during injections seems to make a difference. The needle gets blunter the more it is used, thus the more it hurts. I have had both good and bad experiences with botox, but have now found someone who has been doing it for over 10 years. He is very quick and light handed so the pain is significantly reduced. Hope the botox helps....

Hi all, I'm a newbie to the site, but not a newbie to migraines. I've had migraines for close to 20 years now, although I've only suffered chronic migraine for about 10 years. I believe one of my triggers is lupus inflammation, so treatment seems to be a little tricky. It seems as though I've tried almost every med on the market, some work great with nasty side effects, others don't work at all. I've been with the same neuro for about 10 years. Just yesterday, I switched meds AGAIN. I'm hop...

I've made some med changes and now yesterday and today I've woke up in the morning with a migraine originating in the base of my skull. I wake up feeling like the pillow is hurting me. I HATE that I'm so sensitive and everything gives me headaches.

I suspect that it was a change from gabapentin to Lyrica. It could be the Lyrica itself or it could be withdrawal from the doses not being equivalent in strength.

I'm going to give it a couple days and if it doesn't stop I'm stopping the Lyrica...

I take Topamax daily but the memory loss is an issue for me. The neuro told me to change my dose around a little and find what works for me because after 100mg is when the memory loss is more likely to happen. I am afraid to do it because I feel like the 200mg is where I need to be... He gives me Fioricet for my migraines and it works but sometimes when it wears off I'm right back where I started :(...

It's wonderful that you've got a combination that works for you! I know that migraines are a special kind of suffering. It's amazing when you find something that stops the insanity.

I try to take the Fioricet sparingly. I was told not to take it more than once or twice a week or a rebound is eminent. For almost 3 weeks I took it almost everyday because the migraines were so frequent, but now that I've started propranolol and stopped -ALL- NSAIDS I feel much better. I wonder how much the NSAID...

Yes, that is one type of aura. It is a completely reversible sign that begins before or during a headache, typically builds up over a course of four or more minutes, and typically doesn't last more than about 15-20 minutes (though longer duration is not rare). I believe the zig-zag lines are called fortification lines, because they resemble a fort of a style built in the 1600's and 1700's....
