Worst:

Dominic the Christmas Donkey (which might only be a New England thing).

Okay, something you might have actually heard is: The Chipmunks song. Come on, even if you like it a lot, how often can you actually listen to it?

Best?

Partial to church music, so I think "Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming" will be my first entry in this thread!

All of my advice is based on experience and reading. I am not a medical doctor, and have never even played one on TV.

Hopeful

It isn't my husband's fault he has an illness. It is his responsibility on how he treats it so he doesn't hurt others or himself in the midst of it.

My opinion, is just that, I am here to share my experience, strength and hope to those whose lives have been affected by this disorder :)

Married, I have to agree "Lo, how a rose e'r blooming" is probably one of the most beautiful Christmas songs. I also love "O come, O come, Emmanuel". That's the song we played for our flute duet.

I think I know which one is the hippo song, I'd have to google it though, I don't remember how it goes.

When I was growing up, we listened to a Julie Andrew's Christmas record. I have a CD now that is comparable to that record and it is by far, my favorite Christmas music. I also have Nat King Cole, great voice for Christmas music and another one of my favorites!

I would have to agree with the "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" as the worst Christmas song. One year we bought a reindeer in a rocking chair with that song playing on it for my in-laws. It was cute the first few times we played it, but the other day my 5-year-old grandson played it over and over and over again. I, unfortunately, remember the hippo song. "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas . . . "

I love Christmas hymns. My favorite is "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day." It reminds me of my grandparents because that was my grandfather's favorite, and I can hear them singing it in my mind's eye (or ear).

We had a Christmas album of Ray Conniff singers; I still smile when I hear those songs: Let It Snow, Little Drummer Boy, We Need a Little Christmas, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, etc.

Thanks for the memories!

Well, I'm the weirdo here...I love Grandma got run over by a reindeer!!!!! Maybe because I could envision it!!!! hahahahahha!!! And that nasty fruitcake!!! (I do like some fruitcakes)

One kind of yucky Christmas song to me is Dolly Parton singing "Hard Candy Christmas".....

Seriously, I like Alabama's Christmas Album and I enjoy Thistle Hair The Christmas Bear and just about every Christmas song....I love the Carpenter's...and really EVERY CHRISTMAS SONG AND CHRISTMAS MOVIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!But I really get into:

Handel's Messiah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue

I think my favorite album still might be Nat King Cole's.

One of my favorite songs that a lot of people hate is "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." I listen to Christmas on internet radio from Thanksgiving on (shhhh--don't tell anybody!) and I heard that song by Doris Day. It has a line you hardly ever hear now "Santa knows that we're all God's children" and I was just so taken with this attempt to integrate Santa Clause with faith in God.

I also love a newer song by a black gospel group: Mary Did You Know (I think that is the name of it.)

And LOLLY--I LOVE the Messiah. It has the best song ever for low female voices (that's me): "He Shall Feed His Flock."

All of my advice is based on experience and reading. I am not a medical doctor, and have never even played one on TV.
