hi, i'm new here and i'm 49. wondering how you officially know you're in menopause. it's been many months since last period and i get hot flashes and i'm a little touchier than usual but other than that i'm the same. just wondering when u know for sure aside from 12 months without a period. if you get a period before the 12 months, does that mean your're still in perimenopause? what else can i expect? i've worried about menopause because i always had bad PMS and periods and my doctor back then said i'd probably have a bad menopause too. thanks, tigerstripe6.

Hello Tigerstripe6, you simply need to get your doctor to do a blood test Smile and talk to him/her about what you are going through Smile
