Hi Leslie, Sorry to hear you are having problems. I have had some days similar to that and it always seemed to be when my allergies were acting up. It is disconcerting. I hope that you get some answers soon and start feeling better.

Many people with MD find relief after endolymphatic sac surgery. I had mine Nov. 1 of 2010. Unfortunately in my case, it did not control the attacks. I went on to have 2 gentamycin shots a week apart in April this year, as I had very little residual hearing in the MD ear anyway. So far, so good, for 5 weeks now and I am very hopeful this will be my answer. Everyone is different and I wish you all well as we search for a spin-free life!

Teresa, this group has a lot of good information and you can also find a lot of very good information on Facebook with a couple of pages - one is Living with Meniere's Disease and another is Meniere's Disease. VEDA also has a facebook page. There is also an excellent book that you can get at the library or the VEDA website "Meniere's Disease—What You Need to Know". It is well worth the $20.00 investment not only for you but to share with your family and friends.

Hi Teresa,

Find yourself a very good neuro otologist in your area because this is a vital step in the process. Laura's suggestion is excellent. Also, taking essential vitamins are very helpful for MM.

My best to you and good luck.

Just a quick note. Had shunt surgery four days ago. Surgery went well, and was up and about in a few hours. I am still a bit tired from the surgery and anesthesia, but getting s little stronger every day. I stopped the pain meds after two days, and just use a bit of Tylenol. I started driving again yesterday. While expecting to have post surgery episodes, I have not had any nausea, and very little dizziness - mostly when I get tired. I will not know if it worked for a few weeks - I could be in a normal remission.

I will keep the group up to date.
