I have melasma all over my face and it really has me depressed. I have tried everything from peels to cream and nothing has it under control. I know there are more important things in life but does anyone else feel like this. I have totally isolated myself because make-up doesn't cover it and I feel great anxiety when I have to go out. This has ruined my life!!! Please someone tell me I am not aloneSad

I really hate my melasma too. I no longer socialise or date. Am not pregnant, so that is not the cause, I really disklike takin any medications, doctors cannot find anything wrong with me as to what is causing it,I really dislike it, my melasma is a grey looking colour and people say why am I wearing grey make up......It is really depressing because it has affected my social life and dates.....

I can completely understand!! It is absolutely horrible. I am looking in to make up that will help cover it without getting that gray color. People ask me why I have a gray/blue spot on my forehead...which makes me feel worse. Do you have it yearround or does it only show up during the summer?

Hi My melasma is all year round, it flares up mostly at summer time. I find I cannot wear any make-up because it makes my face hot and sweaty. I went to a dermatologist recently, I expected to be walking out with a prescription for some kind of pharmacetual cream or wonder drug, but instead he told me to stop using any form of soap products especially on my face, and use fresh lemon juice as a moisturiser before going to bed for a week. I have did this for a week and I definately feel more better. It stings a lot, feels a tiny wee bit itchy, (The pain is worth it for me)it actually has brightened my face a bit.... x
