MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

All day, every day all I can wait for is my next jay to chill me out... I smoke at least 10 jays a day, and I only work about 4-5 hours a day...if even that.

I want to quit, but I dunno if my boyf would still be wit me. I told him I wanted to quit, and he said if I did I'd just go back to smokin cigs and black n milds again (i was a very heavy chain smoker before weed), which is probably true and would not be any healthier. I also think I'm much less bitchy when I smoke, I don't care about the little things that usually piss me off, u kno? I dunno what I could do to replace smokin weed tho.

You are only less "bitchy" when you smoke because you started smoking in the first place. Albeit, unless you have some mental illness which is being poorly medicatred by pot.

Either way, after a couple of weeks, I discovered that without pot I process my thoughts and feelings way better than before. Now, when I argue, I win the debate most times because my head is clear and I think rationally about the situations I am in.

I was told by my therapist that THC is used by the body as a substitute for endorphins (natural brain chemicals that make you happy). So if your brain is being filled with THC, then your brain stops creating endorphins. Soooo... if you stop smoking pot, there will a period of physiological depression follwed by true, natural happiness.

And it dosent cost $50 a bag! Imagine that! Free drugs! LOL

Actually I am bipolar, and it probably does help with my mood swings...My meds don't seem to help too much with those. Smoking just relaxes my mind, because of my bipolar my mind is constantly thinking things nobody normal would even think about. I go over convo's I've had with other people, over and over, coming up with new things to say or do. Smoking lets me sit and chill without thinking what anyone else thinks about me. Is there anything else you can think of I could replace smoking with?

What do you think is the best way to quit? Cold turkey or weaning?

I think that weaning off of it will probably be better because there are withdrawl symptoms and you have been mixing it with your other medications! Maybe talking to your doctor would help. They could give you more advice as to the other meds your on! I don't know much about bipolar. I was dx'd with manic depressive disorder along time ago. I think it was from my gambling and it caused me severe mood swings and racing thoughts.

Your meds probably can't work to thier effectiveness while you smoke pot. It may have something to do with why they aren't working.

i will have to go to the bipolar site and learn more. I have met alot of people that are bipolar and have addiction troubles. I'd like to be able to understand better and help more,if I can.

I hope you are doing well and that everything is going good! Thank you for wanting to be my friend!

Take care! Keep me posted on your progress and how you are doing. Your Friend, Chris

The thing is I have no willpower whatsoever. And my boyfriend I know will continue to smoke 10 jays a day, and if he's smoking and i'm home i'm gonna smoke too...grr so frustrating!!

I know it is tough to quit! You have to want it for yourself and not worry about your bf. If it is what you truely want, you will do anything to achieve it! If he cares about you, he will respect that you are trying to quit and will be supportive. I hope that you will do what is best for you and your health. I know that marijuana isn't considered a really bad drug compared to most, but it is harmful. My boyfriend smoked it for many years, (15 or more), and quit. He has had trouble with his memory....especially short term. He can't remember alot of things right after they have happened or been told to him. He will leave things in the grocery store right after he paid for them, forget things I just told him and the list goes on and on. I do believe it was from the marijuana use b/c my brother was the same way!

I don't know much about the other disorders you have or how marijuana helps with those. I'm sure there has to be another, better way of dealing with them. I will do some research on alternative things for the bipolar! Medication isn't always the answer either and can be just as harmful sometimes. I will ask around and do some checking for you. It would be good for me to know this too because I get alot of bipolar people with addiction issues.

Take care! Your Friend, Chris ( I'm waiting for warm, sunny weather so can wear my shades!)

I feel your pain. I used to smoke at social events because the people around me used to smoke. When your friends smoke it drictly effects you and it hurts.
