Hello

30 years of weed and as of Thursday the 10th of September, done. A bit angry these days but coping OK. The black stuff leaving the body daily, reminds me of the damage done (and I used a vaporizer) I feel silly joining the group and am not sure how you will help me but here I is and hopefully, can offer help to some others. I am not down and out and have always been successful. Weed didn’t hurt me so this made it hard to say no BUT my two daughters deserve better So I QUIT.

On a side note: I wasn't going to contact anyone until "Roy" contacted me.

Roy, a special thank you for reaching out, it is nice of you! I have written 3-4 different "intro emails" and deleted them all. I am pretty sure this is a standard practice when joining a group for the first time. I joined mdjunction in August and this is my Hello.

I'm sorry you feel silly for joining a group like this. I sure did not and still don't feel very silly. And I'm sure the 1800 + people in the Bipolar group didn't feel silly joining their group either.

I'm not disgruntled just surprised. Sorry. If you feel like responding. How do you get high off a vaporizer? I have one but can't get the same high as my 1 1/2 foot tall water bong.

Congrats to yourself for convincing yourself to quit. How long had you been debating in your head or to others to quit. That's why I joined this group to try to find others who are in the same boat. I've been smoking additively for 8 years and I'm 21. I've been debating whether or not to quit for monthes now. I just can't find any support or a good enough reason. Sure my memory is terrible and that's why I haven't enrolled in college. But I'm able to keep my job and I'm an alcoholic also.

Sorry to rant but maybe you can help people including me. Keep posting. Don't want to scare you.

Melissa

Hey Girl,

Don’t B sorry for anything you say to me, I appreciate any form of honesty. First and foremost the word silly never entered my mind. I do not think any of us are silly, just not sure on how to use this support for my recovery, it is new to me.

I want to write soooooo much more, but gotta get my daughter to school. Due to my schedule, my replies may be delayed, but I will finish this reply within 2 days and address your direct questions.

Totally looking forward to future communications and stay strong.

Hi, I am not sure if we are supposed to post everything or send private messages. Please excuse my etiquette. Other than emails and text messages, this is my first ever group activity.

Vapor vs Bong. One step I used to get away from dope is the vaporizer. If you got the correct vaporizer and use it correctly, the high is cleaner than “smoking”. Less lung damage, less munchies, less of the addictive substances. The vaporizer will expose the lower grades of weed by not producing vapors. You need high grade pot or nothing happens. The HUGE plume of smoke received by the bong in it self is addicting and pleasurable, so smash the bong when you do decide to quit. Vapors are easier to walk away from. I can recommend and instruct you on vaporization if you continue to smoke, but you need to decide your future. (which model vaporizer do you have?) My input to this group is not to show better ways of getting high. Some people choose prescription drugs / alcohol to treat themselves, I vaporize weed as a “lesser evil”. My decision to quit is for my family and self. Daughters are 3 & 9 years old and deserve a good example of a father. My oldest is smart and probably is aware daddy is smoking something. Life seems funnier and easier with weed in it. I choose to quit as a show of strength to myself because weed is great, it helps me tolerate that which I hate in todays society.

You mentioned Bipolar. Does weed help treat that? What are alternatives?
