MDJunction to me

"I am so happy to be a part of the MDJunction family! Where I used to be alone, I now have friends whom inspire me, comfort me, support me, and do not judge me. My new life began October 17, 2008. I weighed in with severe depression, social anxiety disorder and avoidant personality disorder. I was born with complications but I am fighting for my life and I will survive!!" (apieceofwork)

Hi: I'm a Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer patient (since 5/07) and have just found out that I have Lymphedema.

Last year, after two courses (six treatments per course) of chemotherapy and ten radiation treatments, I stopped treatment. I just turned 74 years old, and preferred to live the rest of my life with SOME quality, instead of the awful side effects of Chemo.

I've been doing very well. Hair grew back, finger & toenails have come back; my nose no longer bleeds, my eyes don't tear anymore AND I CAN TASTE MY FOOD!

Several months ago I began waking with an aching left arm and hand. I thought it was a pinched nerve, but yesterday, 6/02/08, I brought it to the attention of my oncologist at my regular visit. It seems I have Lymphedema in the left arm. When i had the biopsy for Lung Cancer, samples were taken from the Lymph Node system in my left armpit, and evidently that left me open to this Lymph disease.

I've joined MDJunction in hope of support and more information on what I can expect in the coming months.

Hugs, Nonnacarol
