Hi everyone

I am new to the group. I have been diagnosed with Lyme disease and cannot seem to get rid of my symptoms. I am looking for a Lyme literate doctor in either rhode island, massachusetts or connecticut. I am willing to travel a little since so far my current doctors are not really working together. Please help!

Hi, I was just wondering who diagnosed you? Will they not start you on the ABX (antibiotics)? Where you just bit?

The doctor that did the blood work on me and I came back CDC positive treated me with antibiotics, however I had it for about 4 years before I could get someone to listen to me.

My doctor followed protocol and couldn't prescribe anymore abx, because they can get into to trouble over prescibing the abx. I never saw a lyme literate doctor. I am in pain everyday of my life and also have Fibromyalgia too boot.

You should PM (private message a group leader and maybe they could help locate a lyme literate doctor for you.

I did my own search on the internet and the closet one to me is a 3 hour drive and my insurance won't cover it.

I would Private message a group leader.

Thanks Sabado

I have been on antibiotics for 2 months but still have some persisting symptoms. However when I go to a specialist for the symptoms, I am told I need to treat the Lyme not the symptoms. I would just like someone to look at the whole picture. My primary care doctor just doesnt seem on top of things right now. Thanks for all your advice. Jodes

Jodes,

I know of two really good LLMD's in your extended area. One on NY and the other in CT.

PM me if you'd like and I'll provide contact information
