I just joined today, just diagnosed with lyme on 11/01/10. Have been having arthritic trouble since March 2010. Been a long road. Been thru 3 orthopedic Dr's, MRI's, cortozone shots and an arthogram. Long story short I could not get rid of the inflammation in my hips and has now down both legs. Thank God for my primary who kept on this and ordered the blood that showed the lymes. I saw an LMD last week who thinks I just got bit 4 weeks ago. I totally disagree and so does my primary. Can anyone tell by these results if it shows I have had this longer than 4 weeks. I did not recall a recent bite and did not get a bulls eye.

IgG P58 present/abnormal

IgG P41 present/abnormal

IgM P41 AB present/abnormal

IgM P39 AB present/abnormal

IgM P23 AB present/abnormal Thank you!!

Hello and welcome.

The band that pops out to me is band 39 positive, it takes one year of infection to show positive on this band.

Are you sure your seeing a LLMD? There is no way that I know of to tell when exactly you were infected, or even reinfected.....

Also have you tested for co-infections yet, or are you symptomatic of them? It is very common to have them along with Lyme, and the treatment is different.

Thank you! I knew it was longer than 3 weeks. This Dr is an Infectious Dr.

I am getting a 2nd opinion in 2 weeks with a different Dr who does treat Lymes.

I will definatley ask about co-infections. Was a bit worried about RA arthritis #.

Mine is 11.6 and 13 is high. I did see a tick on me on 7/4/2009. Bet that might be it.

I hope you are getting better if you are sick.

Thank you again!

Yes I have made a lot of progress in the last year with this horrible, complicated disease...

For the most part ID docs are the worst at treating Lyme and co-infections. They go by the IDSA guidelines by treating for 30 days and that's it. And you need to treat until you are symptom free for 2 month...

My whole family has Lyme, except my 4 year old...I am praying she will be spared from this.

Are you sure this new doc is a LLMD? It usally takes awhile to get into one.

I am not sure about LMD. But he is an infectious Doctor who treats Lyme.

I know my primary Dr. will not be satisfied if I am still sick in 30 days.

I know he will help me find someone else if need be. He has done this in the past for me with another problem I had.

I pray your young child does not get sick. She will be in my prayers.

I can tell you that it is possible to detect whether its a lyme "flare" or a new occurance, I had new bloodwork a few months ago and my doc says it was a new infection. I have had lyme disease for nearly 9 years now.

Thank you for information blanmom and Tennesseemom7. Went back last week for follow up after 3 weeks of ceftin.

Dose was 500 mg 2x a day I finished Thanksgving day. I feel worse now. Every joint hurts and my hands and arms burn. like on the inside.

The Dr stated that Lyme does not act that way. It might be Lupus or MS.

I did the bloodwork last Friday and all the tets now say they cannot obtain valid antibodies.

It says the reason may be due to immune complexing or immunoglobulin interactions. Is this due to all the antibiotics?

I am going to a different Dr. as sadly I do not think he is diagnosing me correctly. I hope you both are well. And you are both in my prayers!

That is EXACTLY what Lyme does!!!!! Yours is a classic occurrence...

Please do get a different doctor - because this one is misinformed!!!!

For some, after doing a round of abx, their body will begin producing antibodies...not all tho...

What could be going on, is like me, my only test that was borderline positive - what happened is fragments of antibodies were found - they were old as my body stopped producing them...

Let us know if you need a doc...because this one does not know what he is talking about!

I am glad you are going to another doc....It sounds like you were having a classic herx from the overload of toxins from killing off the bacteria with the abx.

This DOES sound like Lyme and it is sad that more docs don't understand this horrible disease.

Thank you for including us in your prayers.
