You can try melatonin over the counter which helps a LOT of people sleep...There is also benadryl for me that helps....I just started using GABA which is over the counter supplement that helps with the nervous system all around and in turn helps you sleep.

This is a hard subject because many things work for some and not for others..I hope you get some relief soon. Sleep is SO important for healing and well being.

ive used benadryl and melatonin, never heard of gaba.

do u get it at a natural food store? sometimes benadryl

helps, and sometimes melatonin helps but neither one

helps by itself, thats where i run into the problem.

dont want to mix and match, not sure of what could happen.

when I had the rx skelaxin muscle relaxer it would help me sleep at night too.. Yes Gaba is over the counter supplement you can buy at any health store.

I certainly don't want to go the route of sleep MEDS as they are TERRIBLE for you in so many ways. I'm not aware of any of the other supplements that might help...but I know regular relaxation type things help like warm baths.

Even mild exercise before bed about an hour or so before helps...and of course cutting caffeine out early in the day.

I'm with you though...some things work for me some times...

I'm an Advocate

You need higher doses of Gaba in order for it to penetrate the blood brain barrier...so 1000mgs is ok. It calms the nerves, and for some yes, it helps with sleep...

There is a tea by Traditional Medicinals that helps with sleep too...its called nighty night...grocery stores carry it - and if vitacost has it, it will be a little cheaper...
