RuthH posted this in the General area, but I thought that it should be out here, too: Hi Everyone: I just thought I'd post this to help our new folks out with some typical Lyme Rules for posting to forums. I belong to 3 different Lyme forums (this is one of them) & the standard rule is NEVER post the doctor's name, location or phone number to any forum. Always send a private message (PM) to share the info you have. There is a good reason behind this!! I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory, but there ARE people out there who watch forums to obtain the names of our Lyme doctors in an attempt to discredit & get rid of them by any means necessary. So, whatever you do, when sharing this kind of information, use initials ONLY!! For example; I see Dr. P here in WV & can send you information on this doctor if you need it. I'm not telling the name, location, phone number, male or female, etc. You also have to be careful of any post where you personally feel a person might be "fishing" for information & you just aren't sure if they're on the up & up. If you don't feel comfortable with the post, then keep the info to your self. I know it sounds nuts, but there are people out there. Ruth |
