my niece was suspected of lyme a few months ago. thank God, it was mono and she's off the hook now.

i was wondering then, when she was so sick and weak: is lyme deadly? not the associate pathology, the low immunity and the weakness, which, i believe, can, indeed, kill, but the disease itself?

Lyme can be fatal but thankfully it's rare. Could infect a vital organ, etc. Word to the wise, many lymies test positive for mono, throw's doctor's off all the time.

thanks a lot, NP40... wow, you managed to really scare me now. in the morning i'll call my brother to tell him about this - the child is still sick, looks sicker to me than before, even. thought that if she tested positive for mono, then mono it was...

i had mono when i was around 21 and i remember it heavily affected my liver, which didn't happen in her case. her spleen looked also fine on the ultrasound, and i was happy that she got a milder case. and now - THANKFULLY! - you're telling me that it could have been a false positive? or she can have them both, even (thinking of which... i heard of many cases of co-infections).

this is bad, very bad. thanks so much for this, NP40!

Someone commented about MONO!

37.5 yrs. ago I was diagnosed with mono/epstein barr virus in mid jan. 1970 at age 21. That folks was the BEGINNING OF MY CHRONIC LYME DISEASE TO DATE!

It was tick off my folk's LIFE XMAS TREE that bite me! NEVER SAW IT; NEVER HAD A RASH!

Misdiagnosed for 34 yrs. by 40-50 mds/specialists with the long lists of illnesses/symptoms we've all been diagnosed with.

Have that person test for LYME using IGENEX's lab for western blot igm/igg blood test!

SEE MY POST ON IGENEX DETAILED INFO THERE!

******************************************

I'd also suggest having blood sent to FRY LAB, ARIZONA for $250 for CO-INFECTIONS of bart/babs vs. almost $1000 that Igenex charges; I've been told it's an excellent, accurate lab!!

Yes, it is possible for Lyme (particularly if it fatally exacerbates other pre-existing medical conditions)to be fatal.

You may want to visit:

It's good to hear that your niece is on the mend.
