I heard something like that, but never got into it deeper, and I can't find many resources.

I'd like to know if it's possible for my father to have gotten lyme from my mother, before he left.

Also, my mother could never have a serious relationship, since people tended to believe it's a STD, like syphilis. Well, is it? I mean, can it be?

I have asked my Lyme doctor who is considered a very active and a well respected doctor among the Lyme community and he told me that between himself and conversations that he has had with other Lyme specialists is that they all have treated so many married patients where the patients spouse had no symptoms of Lyme at all. He believes that it is not sexually transmitted for the fact that he has just not seen enough proof to support it.

Maybe. Time and more studies will tell. I wouldn't be surprised, but it probably isn't as effectively passed on that was as by a bite or blood transfusion.

Blood transfusion---- a whole 'nuther subject. !!!!!

I sure hope your doc is right...however, I have come across those who are totally convinced that they have.

I also think it may vary by strain. As some strains tend to produce very specific symptoms. But that is just an opinion...but better to be safe then sorry..

Never put it past this disease to be the culprit - but we also cant brainwash ourselves into believing that it is the only thing
