My hubby made me a spreadsheet this morning. As we are told to keep journals of our myriad of symptoms. We listed all the symptoms of lyme and co infections down the page, and days of the month across the top. Each day I can put in a number from 1-10 for each symptoms and kind of chart if any are getting better.

Just an idea

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

I write in the diary each day but sometimes I cannot to get out of bed to do so. Is there any chance I can have a copy of the spreadsheet?

I highly recommend you get this. It's called the memory minder personal health journal...it's an invaluable tool for jotting down your day to day health. It has pictures of the human body with different severity along with a log for supplements, medications, weight, weather, diet, etc. Great for journaling your health.

I force myself to keep track of my symptoms daily. Every evening when I come home from work that is what I try and do. I just went to my LLMD and ahead of time I sent him a summary/main observations, a Word document with symptoms and overall description. I think it really helps prepare for your visits.

I'm mostly a clinical diagnosis, so the more I keep track of, the better I can work with my doctor.

Wow, that is a good Idea. I have a journal but, at times it gets overwhelming because u have to end up going back and doing a chart like this any how.

Great idea! Why I haven't seen this until now... LOL

I have journaled some, but a speadsheet sounds perfect.

Something I can do quickly, like a check-off list.

I'm going to go see how creative I can get making one up!

I don't know if it matters how you keep track of everything, just as long as you do it somehow. A home-made spread sheet can be useful and you can tailor it to your needs. Sometimes I chicken scratch notes during the day or for a few days, sometimes a week and then transfer that to my spreadsheets or other Word documents or summaries etc. My handwriting is messy anyway so I figured the computer/typing is good for the final version.

A pre made check off sheet with columns might be a good way to approach it as well. Probably way easier, than a table or spreadsheet where you have to actually listing your symptoms every day.

Another good option are those free calendars that you can get from stores that are using them to advertise and such. Easy just to take a calendar and write in the blocks. Probably can be used as a non-permanent/note taking method as well as a final presentation for the symptoms. Depends on how you want to use it.

Julie, your MD rocks, hun!

Well, I did up a table with columns & rows. It has spaces for every day of the week, and then runs down a list of all the symptoms I want to track. Then I set it up so that I can check each box with a number: 0= None up to 10=Extreme. This way I can print it out each week, or a month in advance, and keep it posted, handy in the kitchen or office, and just run down the list each day & write the number that best suits my experience with each symptom for that day. Going to test it out and see how it works for me.
