Hi,

I’m new here, hope you can help.

My friend has Lyme Disease. He was diagnosed about six months ago.

Yesterday he told me, he was not going to take his medicine anymore.

I’m terrified. What should I do?

Please help.

Dina

Good to have you here, Dina.

Why would he stop taking his medication? Was it the side-effects?

Also, what medication was he on, and for how long more he was supposed to take it?

What you could do is show him what people who weren't lucky enough to have it diagnosed and treated in time have to say..... Is he aware of how destructive this disease can be? If not, SHOW HIM.

send him to some lyme sites.... people like me who have been sick for 20 years, without knowing it... I have little chance of getting 100% well.... and I am only 29....with two toddlers, and I can't even hold them at times.....

he may have been on too strong of a med, or a wrong one, may not have been tested for co infections, was he frustrated that it wasn't going away? you have to treat co infections before lyme will go away too....

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.
