Hi guys!

I know we have talked about this before but I can't find the thread and since I navigate through here on my phone I decided to start a new one.

I have had arthritis in my hands for a while now and it hurts especially in the morning. I can't even bend my fingers. Now, it has gone into my wrists. It hurts so bad I can't tie up my hair when I get up. I have to wait about 20 minutes before I can start to use my hands.

They also hurt during the day. Not as bad but I will get a sharp pain here and there. My llmd gave me Celebrex but it was not covered by my insurance and I refuse to pay for it. He gave me some samples of it and I tried it for a while and it did nothing for me.

Does anyone have anything they take that is not a drug to help with chronic arthritis? I know biomats help but I can't afford one right now. Any supplements?

Thanks!

The only thoughts I have for you here is that my hands were pretty bad for awhile...and it has since eased some.

It could be anyone of the supplements and treatment I am recieving but I feel like it might be another migratory issue.

My doc believes it is probably more tendonitis...which would be why the Celebrex or anything like it wouldn't work...I tried anti-inflamatories too.

She apologized there wasn't more she could do for it.

Just try to keep your hands moving when you can and try to maintain some dexterity.

Becareful trying to pick up and pour milk and other types of full containers...LOL It proved to be a real mess for me at my worst....

Have you tried Aspricream or something like it? Rubbing that on before you even get out of the bed may help get them moving sooner.I imagine I have some arthritis but it seems to happen more in the warmer months for me. The hands dont work well for a half hour or so.

Maybe I will try some sort of cream. My fingers are so swollen I can't wear rings anymore.

The wrist pain is the worst. It hurts extremely bad all the time now.

Guess I will talk to my llmd next appointment in May.

I wear on occasion a wrist brace. It just adds a bit more support in your wrists.

Extra pain and stiffness in the morningis more indicative of a rheumatoid arthritis I believe. I have pretty bad arthritis in my hands as well is all over. I just tested positive for Bartonella. But there's a lot of crunching in my hands and its hard to extend them all the way. I sort of have a claw hand ;/

also it took me several weeks to feel relief from my anti-inflammatory. Do what it takes to get the medicine. piroxycam worked for me. Take alieve if it comes down to it.alieve is naproxen .

I have state funded family health plus and don't think acupuncture is covered but now I am wondering and will have to check as I would love to be able to get acupuncture!
