Cant help you with your question about Lo Loestrin...

But I thought I would share that sensitivities cause my hair to fall out. Did you change hair products? Anyway, just corn oil, orange or red 40 cause my hair to fall out.

Certain meds cause me to lose hair too. Are you on ABX yet?

Just trying to brainstorm with you that it might be something else...

It's important to find out the reason for the hair loss - I have lost hair during times of severe stress (emotional stress.)

I've had some hair loss with Lyme also - maybe due to adrenal fatigue. It's much better now that I have started a protocol to deal w/lyme.

So . . again - in my experience, finding the cause is important - there isn't one "cure" for all hair loss.

Thanks Courious, and yosemites, is the orange and red40 added to supplements or is this an additive in foods?

yes i do have what i belive is adrenal fatigue.. i am currently doing seasalt and vitamin c protocol again on a low dose.. plus MSM and sometimes collodial silver, diamatateous earth.. Rifing once every two weeks..

i have symptoms of hypothyroid and am on armour but can only handle a small dose or i get anxiety.. i also have low iron and candida thrush on tongue.. Thyroid meds can cause hair loss at first.. but i was losing hair when i was on iodoral too.. i recently discovered i have PCOS then doc gave me Lo loestrin Fe..

Apparently i have seberic dermatis or some kind too..

PLS LET ME KNOW LYMIES OF ANY SHAMPOOS YOU CAN TOLERATE THAT WON'T CAUSE TOO MUCH HAIR TO FALL..

pls let me know the best and fastest way to get my iron ferritin up..

thanks

hugs and lets keep in touch

They add orange peel and juices as well as red # 40 to foods and Shampoos and Conditioners, soaps, hand creams..... so many things. I've always had to try the read the list of ingredients on things since my 20s.

You have to know what your sensitivities are....

I found out through the 5 day fast and slow introduction of foods one at a time to my diet and waited for bad reactions.

I couldnt do that now. I could in my 20s when I was healthier.

It is definitely difficult to know what is causing your prob.... so many factors effect hair loss.

I have stopped using shampoo and conditioner all in an attempt to detoxify my life. I use a 2:1 ratio of liquid castille soap and coconut milk. Then rinse with apple cider vinegar.

It takes a minimum of 2 weeks for your head to detox from the chemicals, and your hair will feel gross for about those 2 weeks, maybe even longer depending on how toxic your body is.

But afterwards, you have shiny, smooth, normal hair, sans chemicals that are potentially cancer-causing and toxic all-around.

So that's one way to combat the hair issue. You may be amazed at the result.

I also don't wash my face with soaps anymore. Too many chemicals in those too. I use a combo of olive oil 66% and Castor Oil 33% or so. Depends on your skin type. But it really, really works.

Google "Oil Cleansing Method" and you will be amazed at how well it works. Again, it takes a few weeks (2-3 really) to detox from the store-bought chemical-laden junk, but then you see results.

Any way we can get rid of chemicals either body-wise or cleaning methods in our homes is best. We are not supposed to live with so many harsh toxins.

Also, checking for mold in your home with the ERMI testing is paramount.

There's so much more, but this is all a good start. You may see great results with getting rid of the toxins on and around your body/home.

I use "Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps" 18-in-1 Hemp Lavender Pure-Castile Soap, made with organic oils. I bought it at a natural/herb shop in my town.

Then I add home-made coconut milk (from this site: http://www.crunchybetty.com/homemade-coconut-milk-the- recipe-to-remember )

I don't know that this is a "hair-retaining" recipe per se, but it sure will help to get rid of the toxins and hopefully allow the scalp/follicles to heal and do what they are supposed to do. (By the way, my hair is now soft and shiny with no chemicals! I use a natural Argan oil before blow-drying, and that's it.)
