Hi, I'm new here. After 2 srange rashes 6 weeks & two weeks ago (red, itchy, no bullseye), I got tested for Lyme's. The Elisha test came out positive. The Western blot showed 2 positive bands. I have no clinical symptoms now altho at the time of the first rash I had a mild headache & a slight sore throat; at time of the second I was running a low fever. But nothingnow.

This is complicated by the fact that I am a hopefully recovering Cdiff sufferer which means I have to avoid antibiotic use as MUCH as possible.

Therefore, my qusetion is considering all of the above, should I be starting treatment or should I wait a few weeks & retest? Help!

[b]cat,

welcome to the board!

on www.lymenet.org, this was just being discussed prior to the server going down until Monday, July 9th estimated! so go there to medical when it comes back up and do a SEARCH, found at the top under NEW POST.

leave membership no. blank, and hit send key.

you should get quite a few posts as its been discussed before. i just don't pay attention since i don't have the problem.

YOU NEED TO START ABX TREATMENT IMMEDIATELY!

*******************************************

waiting a week or more is letting the spirochetes invade your body more in the kidneys, lungs, heart, and BRAIN! they had in every little cell they can find.

do you have a LYME LITERATE MD, LLMD, a must vs. going to an infectious md!

what state do you live? ALL STATES DON'T HAVE LLMDS; 15-20 do not! IOWA is one of them.

you can send me a private message or the moderator here on this board, NADINA, for help!!

it takes weeks/month to get into a LLMD so you need to get your PRIMARY DR. to get you started on 1 month of ANTIBIOTICS even though you have c difficile problems.

for a recent bite, you need 3-4 months of ABX TOTAL to kick this in the butt to get rid of all the spirochete that has gotten in your body to date! they will only want to give you 30 days worth. WHEN YOU GET NEAR THE END; INSIST ON MORE ABX ....do not settle for less or you will end up like me! CHRONIC LYME FOR DECADES.

you can read my story in support i believe posted by ROY!

A positive test is positive, you probably have it!!

A negative test is still undetermined,,,lots of people negative testing and actually have it based on symptoms. Getting harder to find docs to treat those however!!

Best to find a LLMD,,to a GOOD one,,,everything 'IS' lyme till proved otherwise!!--just don--

Cats, what happened? I know I asked you this in the other post, but I see now why you did not mention antibiotics. Does a good probiotic help with this? Do you still have c diff? Did you ever take the antibiotics? I hope that you were able to get help with all of this. A good LLMD should have been able to help with the challenge of treatment and c diff.

Anyway, if I had seen this a month ago, I would have said it sure looks like Lyme (strange rashes, positive tests, flulike symptoms) and to talk with the doctor about treatment and c diff issue. Please let me know what happened.

Lori
