i have tried this one with high hopes...all it did was make me gain about 20 pounds in about 2 weeks! I read user comments to see if anyone said if it helped, I would take the weight gain if it helped...all I could read was, it made me gain weight, and same and same and same, nobody said if it helped or not. It didn't do a thing for me, so I stopped taking it ... I figure the weight gain isn't good for pain levels anyhow, so not a drug for me

It stands for Miracle Mineral Supplement:

http://www.miraclemineral.org/index.php

I have looked several places on the web, and haven't found anything written bad about it. People that have used it really like it.

Thank you so much for the uplifting ending, We can beat Lyme! I needed to hear that.

Thanks Teresa

My sister has been on Lyrica for 6 months due to Shingles and loves it. My mother has been on it for over a year and loves it.

I loved it, but did not like the weight gain from it, but it helped me alot with the pain...

Your welcome for the uplifting ending. I know we can beat Lyme, I did and I am feeling great! I just started jogging again. Woo-hoo, it feels sooo good. I used to run all the time. I even had the double jogging stroller for my little ones. So, I guess that blows the theory that exercise alone will beat lyme, because I exercsied all the time and I still got worse, especially after the third kid. Whew. That was some tough times.

Anyway, I'm with Clayton about new scripts. Lymies should be very careful about scripts. We are immunocompromised and I believe because of that , any side effects could be even worse for us. We also have to remember that there is a lot of money to be made in the pharmaceutical industry. Remember phen-phen? A lot of money was made, but the drug was only pulled after lots of people developed heart problems. I was working in a hospital during the phen-phen craze and we had several phen-phen patients. So sad. REmember Vioxx? There are many others. Just watch the news. I think it's important to really scruitinize any new presciption meds, especially for Lymies.

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Oh, I meant to comment on the MMS. I'll look that up later. However, right off the bat, the word miracle makes me suspicious. On the other hand, minerals are a very important part of our nutritional status. It is very difficult (even for a healthy person) to get adequate minerals from their diet alone. In a lymie, it may be even more difficult due to our potentially altered GI status. So, I do think a mineral supplement is helpful. Personally, I take a mineral supplement every day. The one I take is by Nutramedix, it is called Trace Minerals (Relax). It is a liquid and I take two dropperfuls per day (mixed in pure water)..by itself it tastes horrible). I'm sure there are other brands out there that are just fine. That's just the one that I take.

I take the same mineral supplement as Lymie but recently I have found out that my body isn't absorbing minerals - so sad. Lyme has really messed up a lot of my body. I'm having to do a lot of detoxing, etc. just to be able to get my body to accept things again.

I'm curious as to how you found out that your body is not absorbing the minerals. I'm guessing you're not the only one not absorbing your nutrients.

Detoxing is everything when you're killing Lyme. It's really hard on our organs to get all that crud out of there.

Well, I just googled the MMS. It has NOTHING to do with nutritional minerals. It sounds very interesting. I guess you'll be the guinea pig of MMS on this forum. Since it does kill (at least that's what they say), be on the look out for herxing, and make sure you have a good detox system in place. I think it's good he recommends to stay on it for a year. You know these little friends of ours can change forms and hang out in various places in our bodies waiting for their chance to come out and join the party.

Please keep us posted on your adventure with MMS.

In health,

Connie
