Blessings all-

If you are having trouble eradicating your Candida and you use Diflucan, there is a type of Candida called Candida glabrata that is resistant to the Diflucan. Nystatin has shown to work better as a prescribed medication..

I will provide different links for you to read about it..

Wash Your Mouth out With Silver, to Treat Hard-To-Treat Mouth Infections?ScienceDaily (Mar. 8, 2012) —

Yeasts which cause hard-to-treat mouth infections are killed using silver nanoparticles in the laboratory, scientists have found.

These yeast infections, caused by Candida albicans and Candida glabrata target the young, old and immuno-compromised.

Professor Mariana Henriques, University of Minho, and her colleagues hope to test silver nanoparticles in mouthwash and dentures as a potential preventative measure against these infections.

Professor Henriques and her team, who recently published their research in the Society for Applied Microbiology's journal Letters in Applied Microbiology, looked at the use of different sizes of silver nanoparticles to determine their anti-fungal properties against Candida albicans and Candida glabrata.

These two yeasts cause infections including oral thrush and dental stomatitis, a painful infection affecting around seven out of ten denture wearers.

Infections like these are particularly difficult to treat because the microorganisms involved form biofilms.

The scientists used artificial biofilms in conditions which mimic those of saliva as closely as possible.

They then added different sizes and concentrations of silver nanoparticles and found that different sizes of nanoparticles were equally effective at killing the yeasts.

Due to the diversity of the sizes of nanoparticles demonstrating anti-fungal properties the researchers hope this will enable the nanoparticles to be used in many different applications.

Some researchers have expressed concerns around the safety of nanoparticle use but the authors stress this research is at an early stage and extensive safety trials will be carried out before any product reaches the market.

Professor Henriques comments:

With the emergence of Candida infections which are frequently resistant to the traditional antifungal therapies, there is an increasing need for alternative approaches.

So, silver nanoparticles appear to be a new potential strategy to combat these infections.

As the nanoparticles are relatively stable in liquid medium they could be developed into a mouthwash solution in the near future.

Moving forward Professor Henriques hopes to integrate silver nanoparticles into dentures which could prevent infections from taking hold.

Thanks for posting. Very interesting.

Wondering if colloidal silver used just to rinse mouth would work in the meantime until the mouthwash is developed? [/b

[b]GOD... I was sucking down the colloidal silver solution per my LLND for aWhile there. (2 TBSP, 4 times a day) I HOPE there's no safety issue with "nanoparticle use"!

Interesting... They never say how strong this silver nano-particle solution IS that they're planning to have us swish around as a mouth wash.

It makes sense that it works, though, as external topical applications of silver products have been used quite extensively for Decades- i.e: to knock down bacterial & other infections of the skin- prior to the development of our "modern antibiotics", in the 1940s & '50s.

Re: "silver nanoparticles appear to be a new potential strategy"

It's almost as if they're 'discovering' silver solutions all over again!

Yes, they've used Silvadene Cream since the 70's at least, to apply to burns to prevent infection.

Something else you may be interested in to kill Candida is Gentian Violet solution.

It's not expensive, and is available at drugstores.

I also found it at Amazon.com and most of the reviews were good.

However, Gentian Violet stains whatever it touches, so a silver solution would be alot less messy.

Editing to add, I've read some of the reviews for colloidal silver at iHerb and at Amazon, and people are using it for oral infections.

Also almost every other infection you could think of, including in a nebulizer for bronchitis/pneumonia.

"The candida yeast answer" has a protocol for candida. It's proprietor claims that it is extremely successful. Nanoparticle "biotic" silver is a main component of this program.

I've mentioned this program a few times here, but no one seems to know anything about it.

Book Description

Publication Date: February 15, 2013

RELEASED DATE: 3-12-13

A healthy immune system is essential in any healing process. Yet, the general population and the majority of mainstream medical practitioners today often don't recognize the importance of Candida-related complex (CRC) or other species of yeast (fungi) infections.

That's what Dr. Warren Levin, an alternative and integrative practitioner with more than forty-five years of experience, and Dr. Fran Gare, a clinical nutritionist and naturopathic physician, have found in their practice.

Beyond the Yeast Connection is divided into three parts.

The first includes a quiz where Dr. Levin describes ten possible scenarios that indicate CRC and a self-exam.

In the second part, the reader is instructed to take steps to immediate-diet, with only certain foods allowed each month, starting first with a very limited diet and building up to a more inclusive one.

The third part, Dr. Levin uses case histories to explain how CRC is the unsuspected cause of a variety of conditions, including autism, allergies, addictions, autoimmune diseases, bipolar disorders, chronic fatigue, infertility, Lyme disease, thyroid imbalance, and vaginitis.

Candida and Cancer

candida

“If you get a diagnosis of cancer, please talk with your doctor about changing your diet. Cancer is a fungus, and a fungus is an organism that needs to feed.

When you are eating sweets, drinking alcohol, taking antibiotics and eating grains, you are feeding that fungus.

Look at the anti-fungal diet, and talk to your doctor about trying sporanox and a little nystatin (anti-fungals) before you talk to him about chemotherapy and radiation.” Doug Kaufmann, author of The Fungus Link

The problem with having a Candida Albicans infection is that these yeasts can easily spread throughout the body.

They might start off in your gut, but they soon pass into the blood stream, and then set up camp throughout the body.

They are anaerobes -meaning that they don't use oxygen to metabolize and survive; and they create an alcohol by-product which further increases the acidity of the body

. It is in these acidic, oxygen-lacking conditions in which mico-organism like viruses, parasites and cancer will thrive.

This imbalance of intestinal flora can be found in varying degrees in 90% of the American population.

Mycotoxin contamination (fungal-type toxins) of the grains we eat- Doug Kaufmann is an author who has studied yeast infections and candida for over 30 years.

He claims there is a strong link between candida overgrowth and cancer.

His studies demonstrate that fungi in foods, as well as the overuse of antibiotics, leads to an intestinal yeast overgrowth which can compromise our health in many ways, including a diagnosis of cancer.

Mold that grows on the grains we eat.

Shown here: Mold that commonly grows on the grains we eat.

As proof of his research, he devised a diet based on the widely examined problem of mycotoxin contamination (fungal-type toxins) of the grains we eat.

He claims that when children with documented cases of leukemia changed their diets to eliminate these fungal containing foods, they were able to reverse the symptoms of their disease.

His theory is that a systemic fungal infection of the blood closely resembles that of a leukemic condition, and doctors who are not trained in this may easily confuse the two.

Other doctors who have studied this connection have come to similar conclusions including Dr Marc Bielski, who stated that ‘leukemia, whether acute or chronic, is intimately associated with the candida albicans yeast, which mutates into a fungal form when it overgrows.'

Another doctor, Meinolf Karthaus, observed three different children suddenly go into remission upon receiving a triple antifungal drug cocktail to treat their “secondary” fungal infections.

Article about a woman diagnosed with leukemia, but 2nd opinion reveals that it was a systemic fungal infection

Since cancer and yeast infection have been linked, by simply changing what you eat and drink, you can adjust your bodies pH levels and that can help get your candida under control. Limiting your exposure to fungal-containing foods is the first step.

Doug Kaufmann has devised 3 phases to his diet.

Phase 1 being the most limiting and then gradually working more foods into the diet.

Once candida is under control, you do not want to go back to your old way of eating if candida has been an issue for you.

Adopting an anti-fungal diet- Limiting your consumption of conventional meat and dairy, sugars, white flour and grains such as corn, wheat, barley, sorghum, peanuts (because they are commonly contaminated with mold and fungal poisons), and all refined/processed foods.

Foods that are okay to eat on anti-fungal diet:

use stevia to sweeten your foods

green apples, some berries, grapefruits, avocado, lemons, limes

garlic

spirulina and chlorella.

All meats/eggs should be range-fed and hormone-free.

Raw dairy products from cows or goats, or plain cultured yogurt and butter from grass-fed/organic animals.

All vegetables with the exception of potatoes, yams, mushrooms, corn, peas and beans.

Bottled or filtered water

herbal teas

oats, brown rice, sour dough bread, quinoa, millet, amaranth

seeds and nuts (except for peanuts and pistachios)

expeller pressed oils which include coconut and olive.

Foods to avoid:

all sugars and artificial sweeteners, honey, syrups, chocolate

all fruits except for those few mentioned above and all dried fruits

breaded or deep-fried meats

potatoes, yams, beans and peas, mushrooms, corn

white bread and wheat

all yeast products including breads and pastries

alcoholic beverages,

grain vinegar, pickles, salad dressings, green olives

peanuts, all peanut products, and pistachios.

What is candida, what are the symptoms?

Some Remedies for Candida

Raw apple cider vinegar- 1 T diluted into 8 oz of water, and drink then drink throughout the day

Aluminum free baking soda- 1 tsp mixed into an 8 oz glass of water (once or twice per day, taken on an empty stomach).

Raw garlic- is a powerful anti-fungal and has been found to be as effective as Nystatin in destroying candida albicans. Try eating a clove sandwiched between slices of apples.

Bentonite clay - will literally pull the candida off the intestinal walls. It also absorbs toxins, heavy metals, bacteria, virus and fungi to be passed out with bowel movements.

Psyllium husk- is a bulk-forming laxative and is used for cleansing the colon. It is also effective at eliminating yeast from the colon.

Thorne Formula SF722- a strong anti-candida remedy of undecylenic acid in a base of pure, extra-virgin olive oil.

Pau D' Arco- has been used for centuries for medicinal purposes; the trees are renowned for their resistance to insect and fungal attack.

Threelac- an anti-fungal remedy that can be found in health food stores.

Probiotic Supplements- restores the healthy gut flora which then crowds out candida overgrowth

Nystatin and Sporanox are both anti-fungal treatments that are more commonly prescribed by doctors.

oregano

Using Oil of Oregano- has several phenols in it that does the work of killing yeasts, fungi, and molds. Carvarcol is the antiviral, anti-fungal phenol that is the most effective and is also an antibacterial and anti-parasitic. It can kill the Candida Albicans yeast, as well as Aspergillus mold, E. coli, and Staphylococcus and can also help to boost your immune system. You can purchase oil of oregano for candida treatment at most health food stores. Dosage- start with one or two droppers in an 8 oz glass of water, taken up to 3 x per day.

Topical applications for skin infections-

It can also be used to treat yeast infections of the skin which include ringworm, athletes foot, dandruff and toe fungus. Because it is potent, you must dilute it with extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil to be able to apply it directly to sensitive areas of the skin. Mix five to ten drops with one teaspoon of olive or coconut oil and store in a container and use as needed. For dandruff, mix a few drops into your shampoo lather and leave on your hair for a few minutes (do not get lather into eyes as this will sting), and rinse thoroughly.

candida

Self testing for Candida-

Having a white-coated tongue is one indicator of a systematic candida infection.

Self-test with a glass of water next to your bed so that you can spit into it upon waking. Check the water after 2-3 minutes, then within every 15 minutes.

If you have a candida yeast infection, you will see string-like cloudy legs traveling down into the water from the saliva floating on the top. If there are no strings, and the water is as clear, or the saliva is still floating after at least one hour, you are probably candida-free. The more strings and cloudiness there is and the faster it develops, the greater the overgrowth.
