I have to agree with Julie. There are plenty who will tell you that zero alcohol is the rule. But I think that the research on resveratrol is pretty interesting, so I try to keep an open mind. Having said that, with Flagyl, it's an absolute NO-NO. It can literally KILL you, and you don't want that, else what's the point in treatment. One of our members makes his own wine and drinks it, and seems to be doing well on it. I'd say all things in moderation as long as you aren't on Flagyl... I wouldn't go crazy, tho! A glass or 2 socially, when you are feeling reasonably well, not Herx'ing, and can keep your wits about you, I guess that would be ok. I'm not drinking, and I used to...So, there ya go. If you're having any symptoms, I'd say lay off it.  Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.
I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help.
I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days. |
"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....
