Hi,

I'm new here, I joined the forum to ask about Samento. I've been ill for almost 4 years, 'diagnosed' with CFS for about that time and then in July this year I found out I have Lyme disease.

I'm taking Samento which I do feel is helping, I am getting better - managing to do a bit more, taking less time to recover from activity etc. - but I have horrid reactions to it. Dreadful headaches, other aches elsewhere in my body, this almost drugged feeling of sleepiness, nausea that prevents me from eating much.

I was wondering, has anyone else experienced these kind of things, stuck with it and either recovered or greatly improved? And - I guess this is probably different for everyone - how long has it taken?

Thanks!

Samento gave me my life back very quickly,I have not had Lyme too long though.I am over 90% normal now..arthritis was my big scary issue but thats gone now.. lingering mild neuropathy is all thats left.At least Samento gives you some energy back and it has increased my appetite, I have never been on abx.I would totally trust Samento for the long haul.Bonski may be quite similar to you..i bet she will post. Hi gfm, I've been on it for a few months. I've seen definate improvement but still have a long way to go. I started it just to help my immune system while waiting to go on antibiotics as soon as I could afford it but I was so impressed I decided to stick with herbal abx for now. I'm on a lot of other herbs as well now and many vitamins and minerals. What I'm noticing is I still get knocked down on a regular basis like I did before but I bounce back quicker and my good days get better all the time.

Hi Ron, you bet right! lol

Hi gfm,

I have been taking Samento for two months now, and I know what you mean. My doctor also added doxycycline last month, so basically I have been feeling pretty beat up and sick for the last two months. I assumed it was a herx reaction, but I do wonder because it has lasted so long. I will be discussing it with my doctor when I see him next week, to get his opinion.

Take Care,

Barb

Thanks for the replies. What dose do you take and how did you build up to it? I started on 1 drop a day and built up - over about 3 weeks - to 5 drops 3x a day. 2 weeks ago I had such severe reactions my doctor (who recommends Samento) told me to stop the Samento for now until the severe headaches go away and then do 1 drop in a full glass of water and drink 1/4 of the glass at first and build up slowly again.

I also take allicin which helped me pretty quickly - over about 4 months last year I made huge improvements, going from bed 50%+ of the time to managing out several times a week, walking, reading again etc. I'm still taking the allicin but had added the Samento because it's supposed to target the cystic bacteria.

Have actually been told I don't have Lyme for definite, but a borrelia-like bacteria, does anyone know the difference?!

Thanks!

Hey gfm,

I have been taking Samento for about 7.5 weeks or so now. When I first started taking it, I had a severe reaction. It was rough. I started Herx'ing almost immediately, and I was taking it with Lauricidin. I'm not sure which caused the reaction, but I can tell you it was tough. I took 1/4 scoop Lauricidin and 1 drop Samento twice a day for 3 weeks, when I finally started it again before I was able to increase it, cuz I had a small Herx the second time. I was able to live with it.

I took 1/2 scoop Lauricidin and 2 drops Samento for 2 weeks before increasing the next time, the Herx only lasted less than a week, and it was very mild.

This last time I increased, I went to 1 scoop Lauricind and 3 drops Samento and have been on that for a little over 2.5 weeks. The Herx has been rough, lasted about 2 weeks, but I've managed to deal with it. There have been times I wanted to be done, but I kept on with it. It was manageable. But just barely. I'm finally feeling better. I've also been really stressed during this last Herx, tho, which I think had a major bearing on it!

I do think I'm feeling better in general, tho, from the Samento, tho I know I have a very long way to go. I've had Lyme for about 14 years, as far back as I can trace. I can remember that first flu-like 3 weeks I struggled, and it was so bad. And that was 14 years ago. So, some of how long you will take to get better really has a lot to do with how long you've suffered. IDK what borrelia-like bacteria means, but to me, it sounds like you have LD...IDK. Maybe someone else here can help you on that one!

Hope you get to feeling better really soon. If you need someone to talk to, I'm around!

*hugs*

Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help.

I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

That Allicin sounds really interesting, I would love to have some kicking around right now and try it.I ran out of P73 Oil of Oregano and i think i have slid down hill a bit..i ordered more a week ago so it should arrive soon.I get symptom free for a while but it always comes back.I like the idea of a combination and cycling the arsenal.Personally i think Samento P73 OO and Allicin would be a protocol worth trying and cycling each one for a day.Sometimes i know i am so over anxious to be rid of this crap and want it gone like "now" like all of us. I get so close .. and yikes it bites again..lets just keep reporting and share. Its Lemon essential oil tonight..cycling those too !

I started out with one drop twice a day for a week or so and then increased it by one drop each week. I am only up to 5 drops twice a day, and that is all I can handle as I never seem to feel much better. Almost like one constant herx. When I am feeling really terrible I back off to 5 drops once a day. My doctor wants me on 5 drops three times a day, but I can't seem to get there yet.

Take it slow, so you don't feel too bad.

Barb

That's the way to take it, if you notice your symptoms suddenly getting worse back off a bit. I'm taking 10 drops twice a day but I have taken way more. When I added garlic tincture to it I had a big herx so I cut way back.

Do you think that the trick is to concentrate on eliminating the neurotoxins that either abx or samento have created from killing the bacteria? Those toxins can remain in the body a long time (doing some reading)They just build up and keep circulating the blood stream and lodge in tissue possibly for years.Even after the Lyme bacteria is killed off. That is supposed to be where all the pain headaches come from..unreleased neurotoxins. How can we eliminate them? I am thinking sauna's may really offer a lot of relief..if we dont eliminate the toxin load and keep killing off more..life would be one big pain..Am i making any sense or just rambling on?.. Detox is just as important as killing Lyme..and they should almost be equal..Kill then unload kill..unload? There could be members here free of Lyme bacteria but loaded with neurotoxins from kiiling it entirely? maybe we are trying too hard to kill it and not hard enough to eliminate the waste toxins? Upping the cranberry juice and water..and going to do the FIR Sauna thing ...I know one thing..i concentrated almost entirely on killing and not detoxing and may be paying the price. wow what a long post.. sometimes i enjoy typing Ron
