I still have not been tested for co infections but really should. Anyone out there with experiences regarding lab corps reputation regarding tests on Babesiosis, Bartonella, Ehrlichiosis and Mycoplasma?

Lab Corp is the only lab that my insurance covers and just the co pays for all my appointments have been draining me financially and I can not afford to pay for this out of my pocket!

I don't have an answe to that Tina. i do know labcorp is great for the cd57 (i think that's it, correct me if i'm wrong)...and co infections are more widely accepted, so they might be alright.

also, your body is powerful. if you take care of some of what is holding it down , it usually takes over after a while, and takes care of the rest..

Hi,i tested NEG over five times in local labs,Then found a great LLMD,who had my blood sent to C.A.to IGENEX,This lab is said to be the best to test 4 Lyme and other co infec. At this point my doc had a ivpic line put in because he didnt need blood to confirm what he had already new,Me and my LLMD had many of doors shut in our face and tons of doc talking shit behind our backs, because he treated me based on symptoms not on what the blood results were, but 3 month later i tested POS on an igenex igg and igm with way over five bands on both..JENN

Jenn, Welcome to the world of Lyme; I'm sorry you're here, but you now have tests that back what the LLMD suspected in his dx.

Everyone who shut you & the LLMD down for treating without the tests "don't know squat"!! Even the CDC says Lyme is DIAGNOSED by SYMPTOMS NOT BLOOD TESTS. The tests are used, if positive, to confirm what the LLMD diagnosed. He/she was right & everyone else was wrong!! Now you can sit back & laugh at their ignorance!!!

Going with Igenex was a good thing; they're reported to be one of the very best! I used Igenex & so have many others. They have stood up to tests from local & federal governments. They were approved with flying colors, so they must know their stuff!!

Good luck with your picc line & future FULL recovery!! Best regards to your LLMD for having the guts to fly in the face of all those who don't know how to diagnose & treat this disease!!

Ruth,

Do you have any experices with Lab Corp and their tests for co infections?I was tested positive with both ELISA and West Lyme Blot through them but really need to look into co infections?

Any advises there, I can not really afford paying for anything myself right now at that is the only lab my HMO is using,

Thanks

Tina

Hi Tina, Sorry, but I've never used Lab Corp; Igenex was the only one used for my 1st & 2nd tests. The 2nd tested for TBI's, but those all came back neg; thank goodness.

Since you can't afford Igenex & their pay up front policy, then try what I did & my 1st LLMD; go by the symptoms for all co-infections (TBI's).

Here's a site to look at:

Co-infections complicate the Diagnosis and Treatment of Lyme Disease

Hope this helps!! Ruth

i know money is tight, but igenix really is the lab to use. BUT if you take care of the lyme, many times your body will take over and kill the rest...IF YOU BUILD up your immune system with supps... you know, get that immune system kickin

I spoke with a LLMD from PA today and he was pleased with Lab Corp DNA for Babesiosis, I just got tested for Babesiosis and Bartonella but they did the IGG and IGM through Lab Corp, I will let you know how it goes.

Tina, pm me, curious on which doc in PA you spoke to... I see one in PA, and know of 2 others that are great. Also, you have to know that mostly lyme is a clinical dx. meaning, based on symptoms. same with co infections. most LLMD's can tell if you have it just by your symptoms. I will copy and post the list of symptoms here, then you print that out, and mark each one you have or have had in the past since you think you were infected k. if you don't know what some of them mean, look them up. There's one I didn't think I had, but really do, regarding my brain... yes, I have it in my brain and nervous system as well...I will never be 100% I hate this disease!
