MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

This forum has really been so helpful.

I have a number of questions (as a disclaimer I will say that I do not intend to use this as "medical advice"

I am curious about what what different protocols are like)

Has anyone used self injected IM antibiotics? Rocephin via IM vs IV?

What antibiotic seems the most successful for you?

Has anyone used Levaquen?

I have noticed some supplements that sound very helpful and I am wondering

if others are using them and if so how much? Where do you get them?

Magnesium Malate

Calcium w/D

CoQ10

Omega3

B Complex

Allicin

Non TOA Cat Claw

Wormwood

Has anyone followed the alkaline diet? Thoughts?

Has anyone had success with Hyperbaric treatment?

I know that is a lot. As I educate myself I will contribute more and respond to other newbies that

find there way here.

Feel free to PM me or answer here

Thanks everyone!

Hi Lymesucks,

I've been using Samento by Nutramedix off and on since I began treatment in March of 2007. That has been my main antibiotic. I was reinfected through another tick bite this year on May 13. This new tick gave me more lyme, babs and RMSF. So, barberry by Nutramedix was added to my regimen. Samento is a natural antibacterial, antifungal, immune booster, and antiviral. I think others on this site are taking some form of cat's claw, too. I'm sure they will be along to comment , too.

I began taking Magnesium Glycinate a few months ago. This product is made/distributed by Metagenix. I take two twice per day. This really helped to loosen my stiff neck. I don't remember taking magnesium malate.

I've been taking probiotics since the beginning of my treatment. I took two twice per day for many months. Now, I just take one or two per day, three times per week. I used Flora Stor and Prescript Assist. I've been told that rotating probiotics is beneficial to our flora.

THere were MANY other supplements that I took at different times throughout my recovery. Vitamin C is a good sup. Take to the bowel threshold.

I took something called Methyl sp, it had vitamin b12, folate, (I'll have to get back on the rest of the ingredients...I'm hooked up to my 'zapper' and can't 'fetch' my bottles at this moment. It was for liver support.

About diet: One of my sups was an alkalizer to help my blood pH. I was acidic just like most lymies.

Later in treatment, I began to follow the Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type Diet. I do feel better and more energetic. I don't follow it to a T. I'm gradually easing myself into 'healthier' ways. I'm a Type O blood type and we do not tolerate dairy and gluten very well (according to this book). Turns out, I was tested for food allergies and dairy and gluten were two of my allergies. The book also discusses alcohol and which is best for your blood type. Well, I can have two glasses of white wine and get a headache. I can drink two or more glasses of red wine and feel fine. The book recommends red wine for Type Os. It's pretty interesting. The book also comments on which exercises are best for your blood type. Turns out that aerobic exercise is best for Type Os. I've always loved to run. It just made so much sense for me. It was like I was reading my diary. Now, my husband is not going to follow any such thing. He's going to eat pretty much whatever he wants. He's type A and they do better on a mostly vegetarian diet....not gonna happen.

Other dietary guidelines are really common sense. Eat fresh, organic fruits, veggies and meats. Try to avoid processed, dead foods. Drink lots of water. Avoid artificial ingredients.

I tried to address all the sups you asked about. There are other supplements that may be helpful. I already mentioned probiotics and vitamin C. A good multivitamin and mineral supplement is a good idea, especially a trace mineral supplement.

I'm sure others will be along to comment, too.

I believe that I pmd you about hyperbaric, so I won't repeat.

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.
