"Lyme Awareness" (karazon)

MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

I just read a post regarding anti depressants. I have had Bi-Polar for years now and I take all sorts of meds to control it. Should I be worried about some reactions??

Sure.

Stick "Drug#1" and "Drug#2" and "interaction" into your favorite search engine.

Before I take a "new" drug, I'll spend about 10-15 minutes reading all about it.

[When I get a different generic, I look it up and, quite often, find myself on "Drug ID" sites. I'll never forget the father that had found drugs in his daughter's possession. I've always wondered what was his re-action when he found out that his teenaged child was in the possession of - not just one but two - ibuprofen. I just hope that she wasn't "doing them" because of a stiff and painful neck [sigh].

LD can cause every psyciatric symptom. Check ILADS website and print out article "what every psychiatrist should know about Lyme diseas"

Check for HHV 6. The bipolar drug Lamictal may actually kill it.

I am a family doctor in Germantown Maryland. I have been treating Lyme for several years and have treated between 500 and 1000 patients. I am learning all the time. I don't claim to have all the answers. I answer questions because I want to help people. Everything about this disease is controversial. I want to write a book which will be a patient guide to Lyme, so questions from patients are helpful to me.

I have Bipolar and found that lamictal didn't help a ton. Mostly I just take what I have to to get by and the antibiotics have helped. The best I found for me was cymbalta and seroquil. You can too ask your pharmacist about it. The one I go to has been extremely helpful and has even talked to the doctor about changing some he didn't think would react well.
Smee: I've just had an apostrophe.
Captain Hook: I think you mean an epiphany.
Smee: No... lightning has just struck my brain.
Captain Hook: Well, that must hurt.

I finally found the multiple drug interactive checker URLs. This is the first one I used:

http://www.medscape.com/druginfo/druginterchecker?src=ads

and this is the one I'm now using:

https://www.drugs.com/mednotes.html

With mednotes, just click on the "greater than" angle bracket for "full data disclosure" and - if you just want to know the interactions, click on the orange exclamation attention triangle (or, to be technical, the "exclamation point thingie").

When I go to a "new" MD or some such, I include the name/password along with all the other written material I drop off at the doctor's office a couple days before my appointment.

I have a memory problem caused by - - - well, I forget right now. / Gray /
