I love that! The Air Force has informed me that their are no government recognized "Lyme" specialists in the world. Only Infectious Disease docs can diagnose and treat Lyme.

I'm blessed by their education. I just had to share this with you ignorant people. None of you are sick unless the ID said you were.

I guess that means their are no AIDS specialists, just IDs. And no Testicular Cancer specialists, just urologists. And no Colitis or Chrohn's specialists, just GI docs. The head of our hospital tried to argue this point, so I asked how many doc's go to Medical School then pick Chrohn's as their specialty? He said none, in school. Ah Ha!

Of course there is no "Lyme" specialty being taught in Med school. It's one disease. All doctors veer their general specialties to more specific diseases during their practice.

But my degree is not in medicine! These are the idiots responsible for treating our war heroes!

Everyone pray that all military and most civilian doctors forget everything they learned! Then I can be made well again!!!!!!!!!!

LLMD is officially an acronym of curse in my hospital. FU** is a kinder word to these doctors.

Thanks. Venting.

Go ahead and vent.

It is so damn frustrating.

When or better yet if you can find a Lyme specialist you may get better. Or the IDSA, insurance company, or even your pharmacist will complain about your doctor and they can lose their license. In my area the CDC estimates 50% of the deer tics are infected. Yet there is no such thing as lyme disease in our area.

I am not crazy. You are not crazy. But I do believe this whole cluster F*** is a disgrace.

Sadly there are a lot of Veterans, including myself, and other innocents in the path of IDSA's greed and absolute lack of ethics. Watch the "Under Our Skin" documentary.

What?! You mean our government won't help us? I'm shocked! Sheesh, they are the ones that got us into this Lyme mess to begin with. These little deer ticks have become tiny assassins and they are just sitting there turning their cheek.

I won't even get started. ID's are the least educated in my opinion. Sheep.

I love your humor and BTW, no problem with the venting. When I finaly realized that I had lyme disease AND had been misdiagnoised for 20 years AND had to educate my Dr. on the right blood tests, I was sooo angry for days. I wanted to break something! I still can't understand why the ID Dr.s don't know enough about this disease as it is the fastest growing vector bourne infectious disease in the US. If it wasn't for a T.V. program and this wonderful forum I would still be terribly sick with no answers.

Continue your fight to get well, Denise

I'm right there with all of you. I'm hacked that I lost ten years of my life because of ignorance and now I'm finding out it's much more than ignorance. It's GREED!! It's just shameful.

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.

Thanks for all the support ya'll!!!!!!!

My favorite line from Greece, "If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter"! (get it? Jock strap.) Stupid, but I love it because I can no longer be an athlete. I'm just a jock strap now.

Well, I go see LLMD number 2 on Monday. This guy diagnosed President Bush, but TRICARE (my insurance) said he wasn't qualified enough for me???

So I went Congressional on their butt (Like 7 times)! They will look at his diagnosis, but won't give me his treatment protocol because he isn't an ID. Remember the Geico caveman commercial when he says, "Uh.....What?!?!?!?!"

Anyway, thanks again,

Hambolio

Keep fighting Hambolio!!! That stinks big time!!! Well, that's interesting that Bush had to see an LLMD????Hmmm....awfully secret stuff going on...He had it a year before it was even announced to the public....they kept that very quiet....in fact , there are a lot of jokes about his decisions made because of 'lyme brain'. Who knows???

Keep fighting for your right to get well....

Peace,

connie

Ha ha - my ex used to make fun of me for making up words all the time - he called me George Dubya. I called him the second I heard Bush had it just to rub it in.

I can't wait to hear how Monday's meeting goes - keep us posted!

Keep at it Hambolio! Thank you for your service, you deserve so much better. We're all angry, I've been fighting for my 27 yr. old son, lost so many years of his life for what...

Now I have it too, go figure, so I'm madder than ever and more determined to help educate whenever I can.

Hope Mon. goes well for you.

Ann
