► CANCELLATION: Written notice of cancellation must be RECEIVED BY LDA BY 9/8/11 for refund, NO exceptions.

► AVAILABILITY: Registration subject to space availability at the time of receipt by LDA of completed registration. NO registrations accepted without payment.

► This conference may be videotaped.

The conference will provide attendees with important updates from leading national and international researchers and clinicians regarding ticks, and the pathogenesis, manifestations, and treatment of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.

The first day of the conference focuses primarily on

new breakthroughs in the science of Lyme, ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis and other tick-borne diseases

including the role of biofilms, diagnostic assays, vaccines, diversity of genospecies,

a new intervention model targeting chronic inflammation,

veterinary implications of Lyme, and

mechanisms underling neuropsychiatric manifestations triggered by infections.

The second day focuses on clinical diagnosis and treatment aspects and will include presentations on

chronic symptoms,

eye manifestations,

autoimmune perspectives on Lyme arthritis,

unusual presentations of ehrlichiosis in children,

complementary medicine approaches,

distinguishing epileptic from non-epileptic seizures, and a

critical review of treatment strategies for Lyme disease.

Models for chronic persistent Lyme symptoms will be described, including research suggesting new therapeutic approaches.

The conference is geared toward physicians from all specialties, nurses, psychologists, scientists, and public health workers.

The public and Lyme disease educators may also attend.

The conference offers 13.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM by Columbia University to CME registrants.

The 12th annual College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University and the Lyme Disease Association Conference will be at the Hyatt Regency Penns Landing on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday October 2, 2011.

The Lyme Disease Association, Inc. RI Chapter is presenting a conference for mental health and other health professionals entitled "The Impact of Lyme Disease on the Brain, Implications for Mental Health Practitioners".

Seating is available and this conference is now open to the public.

The National Association of Social Workers RI Chapter approved 6.0 CEU credits for Social Workers. Psychologists who attend this conference are eligible to receive a maximum of 6.0 CE credits.

The conference will be held at Bryant University Bello Center Grand Hall 1150 Douglas Pike Smithfield, RI 02917 from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30p.m, Friday, September 16, 2011.

I was asked to let folks know the Lyme Disease Association Conference in Philly is sold out.

Please spread the word to prevent folks from driving/flying there who did not register in advance.

Sometimes there are a few spots open on Saturday for walk-in registrations, but not this year. Thanks!

PS. Please keep this to the top. I've seen folks show up in years past that thought they could get it and it was full. Not a pretty scene.
