I'm an Advocate

So, I hear the flu is going around, and I guess I caught it! Bummer... IDK how, cuz I rarely get out, so that means the hubby has brought it home to me! Sucks!!

I've been so sick today. Started out about 2 am this morning with severe cramps in my stomach, spread to chest and back pain, then I suddenly got diarrhea. The diarrhea was almost non-stop all day. I finally got some sleep around 7 am. I had to get up several times. I cancelled my doctor appointment because I was literally doubled over in pain, and I knew I'd never make the 30 minute drive. OMG, it's awful!

I hope you guys don't get this. Seems like the worst symptoms are over, but the diarrhea is still kinda going. The gas pains are horrendous, too. And the noises--boy! My hubby got up to go to work and was in the other room, and he's laughing at me, going, "Geez, I hope I don't get that!" I'm like, "Thanks for your sympathy!!" And I know he wasn't laughing at me cuz he was making fun of me, he was laughing cuz he's been there, done that, and he KNOWS it's the worst feeling in the world.

He actually came home and took good care of me after work. He got me some Chinese soup and plain lo mein for lunch/dinner. And he was very concerned about me being pale and very tired. He really did feel bad. He just was like, "Dang, woman!!" at all the noise, cuz it was loud and very un-ladylike! LOL Wink

I hope you guys don't get it--I hear it's going around!

Love you all, take care, please! If you don't hear much from me for a day or two, I'm recupperating, but I'm going to try to be around, so IDK what I'll be doing...

*hugs*

Jen

Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help. I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

(((fluffyluggage)))

Hope you will soon be fully recovered

I have something similar but it is making my joints all hurt too, so much for all the expensive 'immune support' herbs I'm taking.

Hey there,

My husband had it a few weeks ago and I followed a week later! The diareah is what really got me, left me weak and fevered, covered with fever blisters, unable to eat solids for a week... ugh!

I ran fever off an on for two weeks!

Boo to the Flu!

Oy, I do feel much better today, thanks sooooo much for all your love and support, guys! Smile I am very tired and drained, but I feel pretty good, otherwise. Julie, I remember you being so sick! Smiffy and Elseaeff, I hope you both get back up to speed really soon. It seems like I got the worst of mine over. I guess I just have the sniffles and some coughing. Could be worse!

*hugs* to you all!

Jen Smile
