Very true, Bonita,

Right now, I am just working through a lot of thoughts and emotions on it all... I know what you are saying about the meat being disgusting now because the smell even at the grocery store usually makes me sick, although lately it hasn't as much. But ordinarily, I avoid the meat department altogether because I just see "bodies". And yeah, I know what goes on.... that's one of the biggest problems for me. I care so much for all life. So, this is tough for me. My hubby is a hunter, too. I respect other's choices. I think it has been much harder getting that in return, as vegetarians,.. we are often the butt of many jokes. I dont like it, but rather than let it get to me I just tell myself, "Hey, I least I made somebody smile today", LOL,.. whatever,

I'm not rushing into any decisions just yet, but am giving things some thought. Thank you for the support, hun, I appreciate it. This is the first time I've ever felt torn about my decision..... Have a lot of soul searching to do on this one, I guess.

Hey all,

You're all baby veggies! I've been a vegitarian for 26 years (I had to figure that out, I never pay any attention). My main motivation was pure squimishness and since I grew up close to where meat is raised, thanks anyway.

I never miss meat. I couldn't keep it down if I had to eat it for some reason. There are plenty of easy ways to get most of what you need. I use flax seed oil in pills, although you can get it as just an oil (make sure the pills are encased in veggie material) for omega. I get plenty of iron through a multi-vitimin and iron is found in many foods.

The most difficult to get are the B vitimins and so you have to make sure you get a little extra through supplements.

I've been eating badly for years and I've never noticed any correlation between what I eat and how my lyme is doing. It creates other problems, though.

I know that Dr. Burrescano is very vocal about how to eat when infected with lyme, but there is no research that I've ever seen to back that up. I think it has more to do with just plain eating well is good for our health.

Everyone definately has to make up his or her own mind. My strictists "rule" about eating with non-veggies (which are the majority of people I know) is that I won't eat at the same table when someone is eating veal.

Thanks Ron...What is strange about my blood type is that for years I was just A-. With my last pregnancy, they of course checked and suddenly I was AB-. They think that the B aspect just didnt show for some reason...but I have been told that it can in some cases change...weird...my kids are all A or B +...guess they get the + from the hubby...

OK Dont care what anyone/thing says - I wont give up the beef - however, It is funny how I tend to only eat certain cuts of beef...those that are more tender and easier for me to chew...I love lamb but it is SO exp. HATE venison - and have steered clear of it forever! Hubby loves it - I cant even stand the smell!

Cod is one of the only fish i like that and tilapia - HATE herring...but I do like shrimp.

OK - like all the dairy donts - but my milk is 2%...the do's are good too - except the feta...

I do prefer Olive Oil - but that too costs...

I have been TOTALLY craving Peanuts and Figs lately. So funny that they are on my YES list. The fruits and veggies are among the many that I like...And I am sure that the Gluten foods are probably on the no list - as gluten is more difficult to digest...

Green tea is good - I am VERY allergic to coffee -

It's funny that american cheese is a no no - I was going threw a massive cheese craving a couple of months back - and no matter how much I ate of amer - i couldnt satisfy it. When i switched to the mozzerala sticks - it was satisfied...How funny huh!

Interesting stuff - Thanks again Ron!!!

OMG... that was a mouthful, and rather interesting because that's how I've been eating for the past 3 years, and just found out that I am actually deficient in every vitamin, mineral & hormone! Crazy, huh?? I just switched back to meats & dairy, and am already feeling a difference! Hmmmmm.......... not sure what to think now?? What do you think about that, Ron?? LOL

THANK YOU for the "sweety" compliment, and yes,.. that was actually my average grade in school, too, LOL And I'm a very "positive" person........ at least I try to be!

I want to jump in on the General Support board, but I have to run & pick up the pup from the vet...... she got spayed today!

Beauty4ashes -- I am also deficient in most minerals, vitamins, etc. - I actually read something that stated that women that were/are on birth control pills for many, many years tend to be deficient. It basically sucks the life out of us. I was just getting all of this fixed when I got pregnant so now I am terrified that my little one isn't absorbing all that she needs. It's scary! BTW, on that subject - I stopped taking my birth control pills the minute I found out I had Lyme and immediately felt so much better. A lot of my fatigue lifted when they left my system... interesting.
