MDJunction to me

"All I can say is that this has been the best place ever. It has been six to seven months since I joined, and I have learned so much. I now believe in myself and accept myself on a completely different level. The people on MDJunction has been so supportive and accepting that I have been able to adopt it into my personal life. That has reduced a lot of stress in my life. Thanks to all." (bunnyfly)

We decided to drop our land line and go with 3 cell phones. Main,my wife and daughter will all have different numbers.I get a 1000 free long distance a mth.plus unlimited incoming and text messaging. All for the same or cheaper than my current land line plan.Heres a bonus the phones have a GPS chip embedded in them in case of a emergency 911 call they can locate your exact location. Now i thought thats pretty cool as my daughter is 16 it gives me peace of mind to know that little phone is in her pocket.

Ron:

Better check out the 911 before you need it, tell them its a test. Jim does this for a living (runs the 911 center in chicago) and half the time it does not work....I would test it out before you need it. If you would ask him he would tell you, half the time it will work and half the time it will not....Plus if the tower is down it will not work...I love my cell phone but would not use it for my home phone....

No they will not get mad. I would call the main number of the police department and tell them you want to do a test. I did that when my mom got her cell phone (she also has a land line). They were very kind about it.

When we were in mexico I could use my cell phone to call the states no problem. We did have to get an international plan tho. without it, it would have been 2.50 per minute, with the plan it was .54 cents per minute.

The only reason I don't like cell phones for land lines, if the towers are down, or something happens you do not have a phone...

If you try to call the Mounties you get an answering machine.I figure there all in the coffee shop stuffing doughnuts. The problem here is its all forest and the tress are hanging over the power lines(also phone lines)The power and phone are down as soon as any storm comes in.The cell towers are battery powered with generator and electric chargers so they are never down..better for me actually more reliable plus there is a tower 1/2 mile away reception is awesome.
