Helikopter,

How absolutely terrifying for you- your list of symptoms I suspect are unsettling at best. You definitely came to the right place for help. 21 days of Doxycycline will NOT be enough. You have severe symptoms of Lyme disease and you may have contracted co-infections from all the tick bites you have gotten.

Thank goodness you had an ER doctor that recognized Lyme disease clinically. Unfortunately they didn't give you even a fighting chance with 100mg of Doxy.

If you've been bit by ticks in previous years, you may have had Lyme long before this year, but your immune system was keeping it in check. I was given a booster dose of Lyme and co-infections last spring that sent my health into a tail-spin.

Sadly, the good Lyme doctors don't take insurance. Please keep in mind that your health is your greatest asset and that you will find a way to pay for treatment that will give you your life back.

There are some great support groups/resources in MN and WI. Please message me if you'd like to get hooked up with them.

One of the moderators here at MDJunction will send you a list of doctors. If you want to know who I'd choose out of the list, I'd be happy to help.

Please keep us posted on your well-being. This is a great support group and full of wonderful, intelligent and caring folks who will try and help in any way they possibly can.

Hugs,

-Edessa

I'm an Advocate

SAMMIE STATED: Since I do work outside my employer is trying to at least cover the visit where I was diagnosed and the 4 days I have missed since then, under worker's comp. I have no idea if it actually will be covered.

I don't even see a point in trying to get my ER costs, or anything new I visit a doctor for, covered by worker's comp because it will be impossible to prove my symptoms are from the tick.

sammie, YES, blood tests can prove you have LYME OR OTHER VECTOR-BORNE DISEASES, so don't think that way; they can be your PROOF since you aer exposed daily to ticks/other things carrying LYME/COMPANY!!

time to go to bed, but noticed you added more since last time i was on.

hugs/prayers, YOU WILL BE HELPED by 1 of the leaders later today during daylight hours.

Hi Sammie - thank you for the detailed information. Very much sounds like Lyme. So sorry you are going through this!

Continue keeping the detailed symptom log, as well as morning and evening temperatures. This will be valuable information when you get into a Lyme literate doctor.

And yes, you might be able to get treatment covered under workers comp.

Sending you a PM with LLMD information. I hope you are able to get in depth treatment soon! You are so right that 3 weeks of doxy will not be enough.

Locking this post.

I am not a doctor, just a patient striving for recovery and hoping to offer support to others, too! Many blessings to you!

Any information offered is just sharing my experience and friendly advice, NOT a prescription. You should use your own judgment and discretion when making health care decisions.
