Hi, my name is Paula.

I have been feeling ill for some time now and found a doctor that felt I might have Lyme. She did the Western Blot test and two of the 10 bands came back ABNORMAL. She wants me to have some other test that insurance will not pay for and it costs around $100 to $200.00. She will not treat me until I do this.

Anyone else come across the same problem?

I live in the Dallas area. Anyone know of any doctors that treat Lyme in the Dallas area?

Thanks so much! Looking for ways to ease the pain and to detox...could use any info or suggestons on detoxing.

Paula

Hi Paula,

The reason she will not treat you is because of insurance reasons, and also does not want to bombard you body with unneeded medications. There are a TON of meds for lymes that you have to take. I would love to talk to you. You can PM me. the Igenex test is the one that insurance does not pay for and we pretty much all have to do it. Once you get those results back and if they are positive, then she will treat you. She is a good doctor

She may want to do the tests through Igenex which is based in CA. That's what my doctor did and I had 3 bands out of 4. My local Lyme test showed nada. It cost 270 but I'm glad I did it. I'm sure some of the experienced members will weigh in. Hang in there! Chrystle

hi paula and jaime, are you the jaime i'm looking for who may be able to get me in touch with a lyme literate medical doctor. i was not diagnosed with lyme they tell me i have ms but i'm not convinced. i did take the western blot test and was positive in band 41. i was told this was significant. i am willing to take that igenex blood test but am not sure how to go about it. any insight on this and how to get in touch with the lab. thanks joannet

Hi, It's Paula. I too tested positive for IGg 41 and that the dr. said was good enough to slow Lyme. Actually it didn't say positive, it said ABNORMAL.

I got ABNORMAL on 58 also.

You can go to the Igenex website, I think it's www.igenex.com and see if you can order it..or you may be able to get your doctor to order it and have it sent there. I'm sure that is what I need to have done, but insurance does not pay for it.

I'd pursue it!!!!

Look up on google: Michael J. Fox and Lyme...he was diagnosed with it 3 yrs. before he got Parkinsons. I know that people with Lyme may also have other things like what they say you have.

Don't know if that helps or not...

Paula

Hi Joannet,

no thats not the Jaime you want for an LLMD. Go to the leaders tab. Send her a PM (private message) Tell her where you live and how far you can travel.

I was diagnosed with MS as well. I dont have it. Did they check your spinal fluid for mylein protiens? MS is a diagnosis of exclusion. What that means is there is no definative test to say yes you have it so they test for everything else and when they cant find anything they slab the MS lable on it.

Carol

I am NOT a doctor, anything I share is based on my experience & research. I encourage you to discuss any and all information that I share with a health care provider.
