Unsure

Hello. I am happy to have found this group and hope you don't mind another new member. I recently was diagnosed with Lyme disease. I did not have any "classic symptoms" rash, bullseye etc. However, I do live in a highly endemic area and in a wooded area. I asked my Dr. to add the Lyme test to my yearly physical blood work-up. She was hesitant, as I had no bullseye rash (not a good Dr., have a new one now) She ordered the test which came back pos. for Lyme. This was in December of last year. I was given 21 days of Doxy and no further info. (again, not a great Dr.) I felt O.K. while taking the Doxy, but about 2 weeks after stopping it, I felt extreme fatigue, and I am having body aches recently. Can anyone help me understand my WB results:

negative IgG=

2 bands present 58, 41

positive IgM

3 bands present 41, 39, 23

the test page that I'm looking at says on the top:

LYME TOTAL ABS <C.91

Is this a pretty common looking result?

Thank you for any help, assistance you can provide.

I am a worrier, I have some health anxiety issues to begin with, now the Lyme diagnosis has hightened these issues. Thanks again. Glad I found you all.

Hi!! Saw that you did not get any replies which surprises me. I am a little rusty with my information. I would suggest to you to PM one of the modarators to get the answers that you seek. I would like to chat with you more about what you are going through, i just do not want to give you false information, since i was diagnosed in 1998 and have been out of the loop for a while. I too did not have the classic rash. I was given 90 days of the doxy and threw up almost every pill. Was put on IV rocephin for 30 days after the bacteria was found in my spinal fluid. Then about three years ago found another doc who was willing to try the Rocephin again but it did not help, so after 30 days he took the line out. he did comment that if i would of said that i was feeling better that he would of continued the treatment (what the heck) anyway, have given up on the searching for doc's, just dont have the energy or $ to do it anymore. BUT i did email my primary to see about testing for the co-infections since i never was. Best of luck to you and your search for answers!! Hope to hear form ya again!

Teri

I'm an Advocate

Hi, sorry for the late response. I'm a moderator here, usually have an inbox full of pm's. sounds like you have a positive WB. The length of doxy is NOT enough .... should be at least 90 days of anything. pm me and we'll try to find you a lyme literate doctor.
