Hi Cindy,

It's good to hear these good news

Can you provide some more information about Dr. Bernard? Where he's located etc? or maybe describe what you think is most important when looking for a dr that will treat me as a lyme patient - I think it would be very helpful for newly diagnosed.

You can do it here, or open new topic dedicated to this issue.

Also, if you think highly of Dr. Bernard, why won't you write a review on him (just click on the "Find a Doctor" link above the site logo to look him up...)

Welcome!

Alon

His name is Bernard Raxlen MD. He just moved from CT to New York. I am unsure if I can post his phone number as much as I want to but I know he is in the phone book. Google his name. He has a website. I will find it and create another post just for it.

Dr. Raxlen saved my son's life. Trey was having"seizures" almost daily. He couldn't complete his school work. The words just weren't coming to his memory. It was awful. But today he is in advanced subjects at school and will graduate next year from HS. He has an incredible story to tell and wants to make a movie. That is his passion in life - film - producing, directing, writing.....can't wait to see what he creates.

Anyway - mother gone awry with bragging.....

Dr. Raxlen has decades of experience and knew right away how to explain Trey's illness to us - how it had progressed and what type procedures were necessary and what medications work and WHY they work they way they do....HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING!

AWESOME AWESOME

Cindy

Does anyone with lyme experienced claw hands? My father has been quite ill with Lyme disease this year. He had severe pain in his back and his stomach swelled to twice its size. The pain migrated despite treatment to lower arms and hands. Now his hands are deformed looking and still painful at times. The last two fingers on each hand are drawn into the palms. The muscle between the thumb and index finger is atrophied and he now has limited strength and no much fine motor skills. Has anyone else experienced this with Lyme disease? Did it correct itself ? Please let me know. Not sure what to do as each doctor as a different diagnosis. Thanks. kimkam

I am so sorry you father has this trouble. I have not experienced that with my son. keep taking him to doctors - you will find someone to help you. Try contacting Dr. Bernard Raxlen - he is in New York City.

Let me know the outcome.

Dear Cindy,

We are both seeing him. I can't say enough good things about him and Natalie. They literally saved our lives. My father's hands are strange though, but I am convinced they are from Lyme. I was hoping that someone had claw hands from it and got better. Have you heard about anyone? Kim

He said he hadn't unfortunately. Every doctor now says a different thing. Only a local OT who has treated other Lyme patients says she treated other lyme patients with hand deficits and she feels strongly this is Lyme. I have told my dad not to stop meds. though local doctors think medicine is too long (Sept-Feb), but if you had seen how bad he was you'd be amazed how far he had come. Lyme is the craziest disease. kim

Thank you. We both go to Raxlen and glad we did.

Can anyone tell me what a CD57 panel striker test is and what it is actually measuring with lyme? What is considered good? Thanks. kimkam
