MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

Have any of you been to the chronicneurotoxins.com website? I'm curious if anyone has tried their protocol and if so, did you have improvement? They have a lot of interesting information. I tried the VCS and it came back negative. Let me know if anyone who has been positively diagnosed with Lymes takes this and is positive, please.

Hi, HopefulinHouston.

Dr. Shoemaker's test and treatment are very high regarded and respected among the connoisseurs. However, if the test came back negative, and you still haven't been diagnosed through classical means, I don’t know if the treatment would help you at all.

My aunt was treated by dr. Shoemaker - he uses a drug that binds the neurotoxins and eliminates them (Cholestyramine is the name of the active substance), rather than letting them recirculate in the bloodstream. She was very satisfied with the program, although the results came a bit later than expected.

It’s not voodoo, like many would think, it’s a test and a treatment plan developed by a physician, and it’s known to have had excellent results.

So I would very much trust your test result, as well.

So is this like an online test? Completely online? I've just taken the preliminary test, didn't pay the extra 8 or whatever to go further, so I'm not totally sure the rest is still online, but I've got a pretty good feeling that it is. Come on... An ONLINE TEST that screens for infectious diseases? As I heard, it's pretty difficult to diagnose it even with scientific lab tests, and these guys know if you have it or not from scanning you online, like a PC virus...?

Skeptical.

Hi,

Here is an archive issue of Public Health Alert that actually has a great front page story about Dr. Shoemaker. I also was negative on his online neuro test, but absolutely have LD, co-infections and viral confections. (In fact you can also read my story in this particular issue starting on page 6 if interested).

This is a wonderful Lyme newspaper that has informative articles every month: http://www.publichealthalert.org/PHA%20JUNE%2007.pdf

To read current issues go to: http://www.publichealthalert.org/ and click on in this issue.

Take care.

Hi,

Betty thank you once again. Yes this newspaper is awesome. I have shown it to other Lymies and they buy them every month. They really are free, you can get up to 70 copies, you pay $10 for shipping. I do this a lot and spread them around doctor's office buildings, leaving them in waiting areas etc.

Coming in the August issue is a front page (scary actually) story about Bartonella.

Be sure to put that site on your favorites, it is always so informative and has great LD articles.

They printed my story that I wrote a couple issues ago and I guess they liked my writing so they asked me if I'd write again for them. I threw something together in a couple of days, I thought they'd reject, but they printed it as well in their August issue. Makes me happy and there is always a big add in their paper on their website of my website. So it works out nicely.

I like writing, always have, now I have a cause I can write all about if they choose to print it.

Anwyay - be sure to check out the Bart story and I am sure plenty of other great stories coming in the August issue, I think wil be online about the 28th or so. Again the website is: http://www.publichealthalert.org/ For current issues click on In this Issue - for past issues click on PDF Archive.

Take care!

Dana, CORRECTION; postage went up to $12/box of 35-40 issues max since paper is now FULL-SIZE newspaper of 20 pages vs. 12-16 of half-size earlier versions.

it's shipped and normally 2-3 day express to your home!

in another post on here, i detailed where i gave/sent 75% of my extra copies of the ONE month of PHA.

I ordered 2 boxes for my JUNE 07 ames public library display so i could have extra on the card table to hand out to anyone interested plus my JULY 4TH education table after the parade locally.

in 1 box is a variety of ALL remaining copies not sold out earlier; so i got 8 of the 12 published papers to date.

dana, i've clicked on your web site so will read your personal story and others when getting done w/my emails tonight!

dana, i'll also send you my LD story of 37.5 years; 34 yrs. misdiagnosed by 40-50 mds/specialists starting off w/mono/epstein barr virus.

tick that bite me came OFF a LIVE XMAS TREE at my folks home! never saw it, not embedded, and no bulls-eye rash!!! later, bg

Hi Betty,

Oh, the price went up? Wow, that must be in the last month or so too.

I know I mentioned this through email, but I wrote an article for PHA this month and Christmas Tree's popped into my mind as I was writing all the ways to get Lyme, just ironic that you and I met and that is how you became sick! My theory was on the money!

I am so happy to hear you bought some for the 4th of July, I'd join you if I could at your education table!! I will be there in spirit - you go Betty!!

Big hug,

Dana

dana,

webmaster, alon, is working on adding an EDIT and DELETE function like we have in lymenet.org.

they have allowed the LARGER font size print as NORMAL does NOT show up for my lyme eyes.

also asked if they can show a color, like red, for NOT READ items in our PMs, and leave the black as is for read items. i can't tell the difference.

XMAS TREE got me; yep! i learned in lymenet, a young family in their early 20s with 2 toddlers were all bitten the same way!!

many ticks fall OFF the trees as people walk underneath them; many of our members were bitten that way.

carrying in burning wood is another great way of being bitten.

yes, i couldn't believe your email saying you'd just written an article on the subject and included christmas trees!

dana, what was the OTHER topic you wrote about on PHA? I'm reading 10 back issues that i received last month; i'll look for your topic then, and WHAT MONTH/year?

yes, i take 2 extra chairs w/me and i'll show DANA'S name on one!! lol
